MoO3 did have a demo. It was on a CGW a year ago or so. All it was was the combat part of MoO3 though, I think. I didn't work all that well. It's on the MoO3 website as well - the BattleField Simulator I think it's called. It's not much of a demo, but its there.

I thought SUDG was pausable real time, not TB.
I'm guessing that $70 is AMD. Canadian that's over $100. That's pretty steep.
>>5)MOO3 has multiplayer and Galciv does not. So what. >>I can't imagine many people having the time and >>patience to play the 300-400 turns you would need for >>a MOO3 multiplayer game. Who can take off a week just >>to play a game. That's why some TBS games play by e-mail, whiich I think it great. You could play 1000 turn game in as long as you want, and have multiple games going at once.
RangerFish: I think the sliders just control how how money is put into each research sector. If anything, I wish it was more like the Civ3 Tech-tree.
"No Tactical portion - Combat is handled by moving one unit onto the square of an opposing race's unit. The two units then have a fight automatically. You are not involved in the fight. Think Civilization." Sounds fine to me. I'd rather have that then the MoO3 combat, which I always leave to the computer now anyway. I see a lot of people mentioning Space Empires, the reason I asked whether GalCiv was turn-based was because I thought everyone was actually referring to Starships
March issue of PC Gamer.
Retail in locals stores such as EB?
Here's a question that may sound dumb: Is GalCiv turn-based? Like MoO3 turn-based? Also what does "no tactical portion" mean? No TB combat?
Still, won't people want to complete the pure, non-modded game? A strtegy guide posted on GameFAQs wouldn't be a bad idea though.
I'm actually enjoying MoO3 quite a bit, but I must say that it has it's shortcomings. I find the game "fun," but sometimes I feel like the game is out of my control, and then I stop having fun with it for a bit. Especially when it comes to things like spies tormenting my people, the research/tech. tree (does the player have any input here!?) and so on. I hope GalCiv does a better job and hooks me even harder.
