I just started having this problem 2 days ago at first I thought maybe something was wrong with Stardock and their servers but my coming on here seems to disprove that. I have the RC6 version of the client and was able to download the 1.02 the other day. The problem is this SDCentral does not want to refresh or even log in. On the status bar it says "Status: verifying internet connection" I actually had it work a moment ago but it took upwards of 10 or more minutes to log in. I've tried it

Like the subject says when starting off, how many colonists do you put when launching a ship? Also same question but as it relates to new planets what's an "optimal" population per planet? I guess that's also related to the whole how ma

Hmm on a hunch b/c I upgraded a friend's PC aswell that has about the same exact setup I decided to install the new nVidia 43.45 drivers and reboot and it seemed to have solved the problem....my game ran again....hopefully it didn't have anything to do with me downloading in the background. ~SDC~

Hi I just installed DirectX 9.0a the other day and a few security updates for XP and now GalCiv doesn't seem to want to run right. I have a nVidia Geforce2 DDR 43.30 drivers, XP SP1, 512 MB RAM PIII 733. I had already run the game before but after installing DirectX 9.0a and a few other XP updates the game seems to not want to work. The desktop goes black a few times but then goes back to my regular desktop. On the taskbar Galactic Civilizations shows up and taskmanager Galciv.exe shows up.
