Actually, I just read it again. Race bonuses to production only affect capacity. This means that the numbers you are seeing are by design.
Have you read the economics article in the Encyclopedia. The calculation is a little complicated because bonuses are sometimes applied to capacity and sometimes to an outright bonus. I'm sure you're not spending enough to be hitting the capacity mark, so you aren't seeing any increase from that. I don't know if that's the answer. I just know its complicated, and even after reading that I have trouble accurately predicting what the bonus will be.
I see its in the Encyclopedia, under the Unofficial FAQ. Also, for printing I used Microsoft Publisher to a poster type page. If you happen to have that program you might find it useful. Just don't download anything over the 70% zoom because I couldn't import the 100% file.
I get confused as to the difference between bonuses to manufacturing and an increase in manufacturing capacity. This is not covered very well.
I installed the updates .30 in this case and then the bonus pack. I didn't see the Terraformers...which I assumed was a unit? Anyway, I saw that the tech tree was old so I figured that the bonus pack's updates had overwritten some of the new updates. Could this have happened? I then uninstalled everything and re-installed. There was some sort of multi-media update I thought I would install first, but then changed my mind and hit cancel. Now I can't install the bonus pack update because the
Great info Ardrikk! I uninstalled GalCiv and re-installed, leaving SD alone and the updates ran fine. I suppose they'll fix it eventually, but I just had to have an update.
I don't think you can drop out of the Senate. It seems like your chances of a good vote are better if your party is in control. I had the bright idea of changing governments when I wanted to go to war. It worked in Civ2, right? But, the Senate voted and rejected my command to change to Imperial government. I guess that's pretty realistic. ~SDC~
I always figured it was for future expansion without altering the graphics too much. It seems to me a game options tag would have been appropriate.
I have an AMD K6-2 450 Compaq with 256 MB memory. It does okay on the smaller maps. I haven't tried anything large yet. The video is very choppy, however, I one time lost the sound after trying to run the windowed version and without the sound the video was smooth. I'm thinking that the video problems may have something to do with my cheap integrated ESS sound chip. ~SDC~
Well, that sounds encouraging. I had written off the game when I saw the MINUMUM requirements were so high. I've played some games, who's minimum requirements I met, and was not pleased. Sounds like they may be over-stating them a bit. You don't expect to be able to use every option in a game unless you meet the recommended requirements. I hope it doesn't turn too many others away as it did me. I'm still hesitant...I'll see what everyone says after the release. ;)
600 Mhz. for a turn-based strategy? Holey Moley, what's it need all that for? Seems like that could be pared back a bit don't you think? :p
