I run SDC with Win98SE. No issues here. ~SDC~

FYI for the troubleshooters. I played a game through with version 1.04[b] and submitted and the score has not shown up. I don't mind so much because I didn't score too highly. I think this was 2-3 days ago. I was getting successful submissions in 1.02[something]. I never completed a game using version 1.03[something], so I don't know how that would have gone. Everytime I upgrade I totally clear out my save game area because I had an apparent Metaverse overwrite happen with an earl
Yeah baby! Thanks Stardock. ~SDC~
I'd like to see a way to find a specific star. I was playing along and got a message that Gabriel had increased its planet quality. Where is Gabriel?
Well if marketing and investments brought Atari down, then this song is certainly a good fit for anyone wanting to take on the name and the poor marketing. I don't think it was marketing that got Atari though. They were very proprietary with their software development. Eventually, the lack of software, made Atari less popular. They made some bad investments, its true, in the 16 bit market, so the PC eventually dealt the final blow I'd guess. ~SDC~
The improvement for paying for Starbases is a good idea. You might also just make the improvement automatic. What I mean is that you get free starbase support for the number of planets, or stars you control. You could still have the wonder to double this perhaps. ~SDC~
I used to have that trouble. You should right click near the top of the screen on the button that says "GalCiv Forum". Then select Reset list. It doesn't take long, and you get an up to the minute refresh. ~SDC~
Excellent theory Infodragon. If you're correct, hopefully the developers can condition/separate the extra functions to occur only when needed.
Its probably not worth having for free. Which would you rather spend time playing? Galciv or MOO3? ~SDC~
Leave the open menu .bik alone. Most of the others can be hidden. I tried different ways of deleting and it alway hung up, so I left those .biks along. ~SDC~
Andre, you can still make it last a really long time. If you're going that long, your Metaverse score probably isn't much of a priority anyway, so, "its your thing, do what you wanna do." ~SDC~
Well, I have the patch but haven't thoroughly played it. However, the concept that there might be more cash than you know what to do with while tech suffer is just silly talk. YOU create the balance when you set the sliders. If you don't want the money, up that tech spending. ~SDC~
Suffice to say its a hit! Man, Frogboy is my age, and he's done more with his professional life than I may ever do. Go Frogboy! ~SDC~
Anxiety, the original claim was that you could teach your own A.I. to play more like a top player had. I think this is what you're asking about. I don't think you can do this as of yet.
Thanks CariElf. Its nice of you to address these issues. ~SDC~
The Starbase guys get defense upgrades...very significant ones at that. ~SDC~
Congrats. Frogboy, you know where to send the commision. LOL ~SDC~
I doubt this is a bug. They want to attack the planet. A civilization who they are not at war with, stacks ships all around the planet. I bet its just the way the A.I. is built. It doesn't expect there to be no way to reach the planet. ~SDC~
I recommend you get it. Stellar Frontier and Corporate Machine made it worth it for me. I guess that little ninja game is all right too if you like that sort of thing. ~SDC~
Look on for the sticky thread called "Getting Galciv Betas." Frogboy posted the coupon code at the top of the thread. ~SDC~
The deal was better than that. If you owned GalCiv, it was $30. Plus, Frogboy posted a coupon code that took $10 off, so it was $20. I think that the coupon expires at the end of April last time I looked. I'll see if I can locate the post. I don't want to put the information up myself in case I'm not supposed to be advertising it. ~SDC~
Its probably too many posts wondering why the server goes down on the weekend. ~SDC~
Duglis, Funny thing, I think the political parties are in for the next update. ~SDC~
I think you can find it in the Unofficial FAQ in the Encyclopedia. I haven't checked there in a while, but it used to be there. ~SDC~
I hope its soon (drool). I only bought the game, I didn't subscribe to Drengin. Will future upgrades be available to Drengin users first? Like a beta team? ~SDC~
