I was about to finish building my 1st Terror Star when the game suddendly ended. Cultural domination victory! Great but really sad too. I wish I could have kept on playing to have some fun destroying the whole galaxy. (:(

Last night I was playing and the Carnoids got kind of though, so I tried to get the Alterians to attack them cause they were pretty strong too. They both got into an amazing war and both got really weak with their armys, so I decided to attack them both at the same time. I got 4 nice planets in a few turns. hehe! But I forgot that the Alterians had an alliance with the Torian. They came to kick my ass not long after. I was stronger and they wanted to sign a peace treaty. No way! hehe! :d I hope

Devs...? Any comments? I think it's a very valid thread that should be taken into consideration. I love the game but this feature would make it more natural to the game nature. It would give us ability for tactics.

I agree limited fleets are the way to go in GalCiv. Make it a technology advancement. And only little fast fighters should have there efforts grouped, not capital ships. So if I escort a nice ship with a bunch of little fighters, then they can group there attack together to protect the big ship in the middle. I can't picture the dev. won't even consider this. ;)

Working like a charm here. Only had a little problem at the beginning figuring out how not to download the whole packages for updates. After reinstalling GalCiv, everything was fine. Keep up the good work we appreciate it a lot! ;)

Install SDC first then install the game. That did the trick for me on two different machines. Stop bitchin and try it out. >:(

Uninstall the game, the uninstall SDC. Install SDC first then install the game and that will fix your problem. I had the same problem on 2 machines and doing this fix both.

I play for about 1-2 hours a night. My current game is Tiny, AI level to stupid and I've been playing for about 1 week now. I think I understand the game pretty much, but I am not as good as all of you with strategy. I do it my way. I fixed the problem where you had to download the whole 84.5meg content just to update to 1.01a.030 the other day. Stardock Central has to be installed before GalCiv is installed. I reinstalled from the files that I've download from the website but not from SDC and then I ran the update again, and voila everything was perfect. A simple 1meg file to download this time. All other updates where around 1meg as well.

We don't need SDC to prevent piracy. Really. Why don't they have us send our email address, check the database, then send us back a dynamicly generated link to the files. Easy and they did it already with the direct downloads. It works and it's way faster than the buggy SDC.

Random events should be toggle like this: [none] [fewer] [normal] [a lot] [X] fewer bad [X] normal bad [X] more bad They should also occurs for other races more often. Big big minus for this game right now. I've played 5 games so far and lost them all mainly because of bad random events. I absolutely love the game but this has to be fixed before I really start to hate it. I like to win sometimes too ya know! :)

The galactic prison? Easy. The prisonners will hijack 3 ships and will basicly destroy all your stuff (starbases, ships...) they are very powerfull ships. It always happens to me when this event is voted in the UPC. Good luck or simply start another game. (:(

I agree with Asharak on this. I've lost all my games because of random events. They are almost all negative on YOUR empire and uncontrollable most of the time. There should be more positive ones. It's the most difficult thing to handle in all the game.

I have played about 4 games so far in a tiny galaxy. Everytime, my population can't grow. I go in major dept and without much people I don't have much influence. What is the best way to keep the population to grow?
