In my last game, I decided to disband a bunch of Defenders I didn't need to save on maintenance. Before doing that, I clicked on a stack of Corvettes, then clicked on a planet that had a Defender in orbit. I clicked the Defender icon, then hit the X to disband it. However, it disbanded one the Corvettes from the stack I had clicked earlier, even though the ship info readout was for the Defender in orbit. I tried this with other ships in space, too. I clicked on the USS Hero, then cl

Thanks. Just curious as to why something made by Frogboy isn't included in the normal updates. Unless, perhaps, they there as examples of how to make such things for the modders. ~SDC~

Well, I have to admit I would sometimes like to continue playing... just to see what would happen. I was trying to have a military victory (with the Pacifists, go figure... Evil Pacifists, to boot), and I conquered everybody except the Yor (who were in a far corner that only included about 6 planets). Just as my stack of Corvettes and Transports (who had 20 ATT, thanks to the U.P.) were getting close, I got the cultural victory cinematic. Noooo! :D I could just set it to only al

I'm assuming you downloaded the game off Stardock, so I would just copy the file you got from that (.zip? .exe? ...I dunno, I bought mine at EB). Also, burn onto that CD the Bonus Pack patch. As far as the latest updates go, I'm not sure how to add those. Now, as far as the actual burning goes, I'd get a decent CD-R to copy to (don't bother with those large spindle packs if you're looking to keep this CD for a while). Check the record speed on the CD (4x, 12x, 24x, etc.) and

I was looking at the mods in the Library and was wondering if the 3 items made by Frogboy (Dangerous Animals, Courage, Smuggling) are already in the updates, or if they need to be downloaded out of the Library. ~SDC~

Maybe morale should be on a difficulty slider when you start a new game. "Normal" would be the current setting (58%), then every click towards "easy" would increase morale 1-2%, and every click towards "hard" would decrease morale 1-2%. That way people who liked the original 50% version can set it that way... and have all the AI be affected, too. ~SDC~

Sigh... no, I said, as the thread title states, Alternate GalCive history. Meaning that the storyline would be different (according to the online manual... which have a different backstory in the final). So, in an Alternate history, the only race colonizing space to a large degree would be the humans. Good for us, but a bit dull for actual gameplay (no challenge).

I was just the background story in the online manual. My first thought was if the humans of the 22nd century were a little more paranoid, they would've kept the hyper-drive technology for themselves. They could be the ultimate merchants, anything anybody wants as fast as possible! :CONGRAT: ...wouldn't make a very good game, though. LOL
