In my personal experience, the AI does not know where resources are. In a medium galaxy, I've discovered free resources where the Drengins controlled a resource just one sector away. Also, when the Drengins felled the Yor, about four resources lighted up on my map, whereupon I built a batch of constructors and grabbed them all. So.. because of Drengin warfare, I now control 70% of the galaxy's resources. And to top it off, according to my spies, the Drengins are using 700 bc per month o

A couple of weeks back, Brad was talking about the prison cutscene which is run if the serial is invalid, after which the game crash. Maybe the crack attempts to block the serial check? *shrug* The game crash is forced by deleting the galaxy object as I recall. Oh, there are so many obvious puns right there... * .. must .. resist .. * ~SDC~

Aaah, a little DA reference, funny! :) Btw, did you have lawyers type out the original binary code for you? 110100110 => 00101010, hmm :) ~SDC~

Since this is a nitpicking thread, I'd just like to add that an even better name for the Yor would be Ambassador 11010110, making it a byte (8 bits) and not 9 bits, a number not divisible by 4 since the Yor like bits and nibbles. At least that's how I figure them. Actually, [twisti], your Yor name should be Ambassador 0000000110100110 (making it a 16 bit word), but I think my byte is shorter and sexier. ;p ~SDC~

If you've got a mouse wheel, just use that on the planet list, and you won't have to worry about overshooting. On the other hand, maybe there should be an option to disable the edge scrolling? That would leave you with the left-click scrolling and the minimap to navigate. Something for the suggestion thread, I guess... Me myself am perfectly happy with how it works right now. :) ~SDC~

You're not the first to experience this, others have reported this before you. The update is about 1Mb in size, not 85Mb. Also, you'll get other problems if you go through with the 85Mb update. I think the most-offered solution is to select Tools->Refresh Application Data in the menu. If that doesn't help, browse around on the forum, and I'm sure you'll find your answer shortly. ~SDC~

Well, I finally found the way to submit my score. I had to be connected to the internet when I clicked done in the summary screen. Then the submit to metaverse-screen appeared. So by reloading the last autosave, I played the last turns all over again, won, got the summary screen and at the end, the submit screen. Now I'm an ensign. :) I take it this is the only way to submit scores? In that case, there should be a warning somewhere on the summary screen. ~SDC~

After several false starts (there are numerous ways to kill your economy in the early game, I've discovered...), I actually won a game on the simple level, yeahey! After smothering the Yor with a couple of battleships, a batallion of battle cruisers and battle hammers (incredible hull!) and a steady supply of battle transports, my Torean and Altarian allies were the only remaining races. Of course it did help that the Alexians had to give in to my cultural superiority, which gave me a star syste
