Hmm, haven't tried it yet and I did update my drivers. Sadly updating drivers isn't helping with late game sluggishness.
If you refer with "sluggishness" to slowdowns, then you may try one of the workarounds that has been proposed on the Paradox Hoi3 forum. *Control Panel -> System -> Advanced -> Performance (Settings) -> Advanced -> Virtual Memory (Change) -> No paging file </bl
Post a link to it here.
I think the problem should be solved for me after the Catalyste update from yesterday. The error log is relates to the failor before the update. link: http://pastebin.ca/1927557 Some lines have been delete for privacy reasons.
Windows Key works now after updating to Catalyst version 10.8 released yesterday. Thx for the hint in the other cdt thread // thread here can be closed
Stupid noob question: How are the devs supposed to find my debug.err on pastebin?
Alt+Tab is known to crash the game on ATI cards, and the Windows key is effectively an Alt+Tab. There's a file called debug.err in your My Documents\My Games\Elemental folder. You should post that to a site like pastebin and link to it here. That helps the devs fix it.
Ok.
You can google for a 3gb enabler and use it for the Elemental executable for now. Remember even if you have 8gb of RAM, Elemental is a 32-bit process so it can really only use 2gb. Enabling the "large address aware" header in the executable (which doesn't actually modify it so it's fully compatible with everything) gives it more wiggle room from the OS, and some people have been posting that it helps them quite a bit. Ok, let's hope they adress the memory leak in the next patch.
Running a 64-bit system under vista with 8 gb RAM and 1 gb graphic cache (ati), I got a freeze and then cdt due insufficent memory. The game run stable for about an hour or so.
I get cdt with windows key. - newest patch has been installed - 64-bit windows vista - ATI card (4870 1 GB), drivers should be updated
Stupid question: Can I upgrade existing basic units when the equipment is available, e.g. scouts to heavy infantry?
I am certain that the game will run stable over time on my hardware. It's not the 64-bit implementation what makes the game more or less stable. The instability of the current version is probably graphic card related as other users have also issues running Elemental on ATI cards.
I have bought the game now. - Let aside the lack of a 64-bit implementation which I would like to see sometimes, 3 cdt within half an hour is too much. Nevertheless, the game is cool, gamey and has the 5th X.
The last I heard some components that elemental uses do not have a 64 bit version. But it may be that has changed as I am involved with the reactor overlay rather than the core game.
Ok, thx for the response.
Where did you see a 64 bit version mention?
I think in one of your game descriptions that has mentioned features that may come in later but I don't remember where I have read that.
I would like to clarify something for me what I find confusing at the moment. Is the announced 64-bit version an extra built (you pay for) or is it an upgrade to the normal version of the game?
Ok, I consider maybe to buy Elemental? I have not played master of magic. I need another analogy. How about Heroes of Might and Magic?
Impulse and Matrix hopefully start to upload and sell armada 2526 soon. It's promising from what has been shown so far. There is a player review on youtube, btw.
If Armada 2526 is successful (whatever the quality of this game will be - we can't know that now), it will give GalCiv2 Ulitmate Edition's sales numbers a push and that can't be bad for GalCiv3.
I'll release the new version tonight. This version on top of having the movies compressed and ship graphics down, will also have a new ShipStyle fix that should stop certain ships from crashing the game when they attack or are attacked. Is there any difference in content between the new 700 MB version and the previous 1.2GB version? I have the 1.2GB version running. Should I change to the 700 MB? Btw It is a cool mod.
The game runs like a windhound on: AMD Athlon 64X2 Dual Core Processor 3800+ 2.06 GHz, 200 GB RAM Radeon X800GTO
Are you still interested in new run tests after 4th April or are there enough for the time being?
All right, you will get aditional run-tests on several other systems in the following days.
Hi, I have got the beta build today and have run it on a pc with net-connection. Now, I want to install and let it run on a pc (my old laptop) without net-connection. Is this possible or not? It might be possible but not allowed. Would you mind to clarify. Thank you.
