That was before AH bought out SSI, though I could still be wrong as to the company, since it is a long time ago. I do remember that the main reason that any of us joined the debate club was that it would mean 5-6 trips a year out of the little town I grew up in, and at least 3 of those trips would be into Reno, someplace within walking or cabbing distance of Uncle Harry's, which at the time mostly carried SSI, so that's most of what we bought. 33 years and starting to feel the mileage?

I had a nice, clean install of all of GalCiv (except the windowed version, haven't tried that yet), but I get that error whenever I try to install *ANY* of the other Drengin.net games now (I figured for the extra money I might as well subscribe to the whole thing :)).
Never played Kingmaker, though we'd play SSI's WWIII in a way that made it look like a game of diplomacy (house rules). Ever seen two superpowers negotiating "O.K., if you let me nuke your 7th fleet, I'll let you nuke Stalingrad, and we call it even, no escalation roll needed. O.K.?"
Oh, and in case that wasn't enough of a clue, I'm about 38.8, though I've been thinking of myself as 40 for a few years, since I tend to round to the nearest decade.
Yeah, I remember the good old days when a strategy war game meant having a friend over for pizza (or at least potato chips) and Coke, and breaking out a game with hundreds of little cardboard pieces, where it would take half an hour just to get all the units into their starting positions. Belonged to a small club, the "Kreigspeilers" (sp? my German is so rusty!) That was when I learned that I'm much better at tactics than strategy. Tell me to take a hill, and you can consider it taken
Last night, the PDF version of the manual came up for downloading through StarDock Central. I downloaded it and printed it. Except for the fact that I actually prefer a plain whit background, I like it. It expands the manual from 32 pages to 45 pages, though I don't know how much of that is added information and how much is just formatting and splash pages. There is what I assume to be corrected information. The graphics were done at too low a resolution to be very readable,
Either give it to someone far away from you that you dislike, or try to lead the space sharks away from you with a scout ship. They seem to chase things, so that might work, and I've read here that it does.
Hi back, I registered after you did (half an hour ago, in fact, right after I picked up a subscription to Dregnen.net). My opinion of MoO3 isn't nearly that bad, as I actually enjoy playing it, but until they get the patch out, I think I'll be playing GalCiv. There's definitely things to be said one way or the other. GalCiv is about more than just military, but MoO3 has more fun with the military, once you've convinced your viceroys to build what you want.
Frogboy, you may want to update your yahoo store. I just bought Drengin Network (not the company, just what the store describes the product as :)) and it directed me to download dgm_067.exe, unless you've overwritten that with a copy of SDCentral.
