(Just a wee small warning... I'm just having fun here, this is NOT serious!! LOL ) What I would like to see in an expansion of GalCiv can be summed up in five words. Trolls. Trolls, dwarves and elves. Thank you! Damian ;p LOL ~SDC~

When I mentioned multiple fleets on the same spot, I would think the limit of 16 ships per square (if there is such a limit) would still apply. By extension, if two fleets of 10 ships are trying for the same square, then they both cannot occupy that. PS: I don't run around with fleets much at all... haven't had a need on the levels I play at. Damian ~SDC~
Control-click on fleet screen to pick which ships are going to become part of a fleet. Multiple fleets on the same spot, each highlighted by a different border colour. Scroll-wheel support on the 'production produced' part of the turn screen. Hmmm.... more suggestions later :) Damian ~SDC~
I would like to see, after having seen the latest poll on the galciv home page, a button beside the win conditions in setup, labelled 'advanced...' In the popup screen that would then appear, you'd be able to set who can win by what victory condition, perhaps with the following options: player/specific races/all computer players/all. Default button that resets victory conditions to the state they are now: everybody can win by culture or military but only the human player can wi
Well, there'll be plenty of whale-meat and geraniums if the defense ships have that drive... ;) Damian ~SDC~
Toga glad Bobo intely... intala... intyla... errr... smart! LOL Damian ~SDC~
I would like a 'hot-key' list that can be accessed by eg pressing the question mark key, or going to the menu, then to the list. A one-click or one-key option to reach that list would be very good... and a notice at the start of the game pointing out the method(s) to reach the hotkey list. Also: right-click lists, eg in the planets list, in order to be able to change the order of the planets by category/forward-reverse, etc. Same UI thingy everywhere there is a list that can ha
Pardon the nearly useless post. I agree about the time limit on posting. I would add it would be interesting to increase the time editing may be done (say... up to half an hour after post) for the higher ranked users. Responsible people get better rights. :) Damian ~SDC~
Code Monkey, kudos to you for dealing so well with difficult posts. Keep going. :CONGRAT: :CONGRAT: :CONGRAT: Damian ~SDC~
Stealth: Cloaked ships being detectable at half the current scan range of ships and planets (to help reduce the overwhelming advantage of eyes of the universe), not every ship in game has cloaking, only those designed with it (perhaps ship types like fighter, cloaked fighter, probe, cloaked probe, avatar (always cloaked)) etc. Slightly to significantly more expensive to produced the cloaked version of something. ECM and ECCM (and of course ECCCM and ECCCCM) technologies that don't chang
Oh. Forgot to mention, you can do that in any version of the game, accidentally (or deliberately, there's a possible tactic for you) changing production after purchase of the item. Damian ~SDC~
I've seen 99% cultural victory in a couple of my games... Damian ~SDC~
I groaned when I saw that one, it describes the Pokemon series nearly exactly LOL Damian ~SDC~
Did you change the ship type you were producing after buying? I've done that and lost what I was building :notsure: . Solution: after buying something, don't change the production for that planet and production line until it shows up in the between/start of turn maintenance stuff. Damian ~SDC~
Toaddog, profanity bites. I just read this thread and noticed your post in it, about speaking for yourself. You'd stated yourself very well until the profanity hit. Refrain from it for everybody else's sake, or find a more polite way to voice your anger/displeasure/dissapointment/personal attack/whatever. I'm not a moderator, just a user that has found this to be one of the best boards for a game ever, and don't want it brought down. I mean, do you see anybody from Stardock usi
PS I like the thread, and everything that has been expressed in it. Take my post just above to be just plain silly :) Damian ~SDC~
It's a random thread, out there fishing for space sharks without a fish hook. What did you expect? :CONGRAT: LOL ~SDC~
Which page is THIS page? :D Damian ~SDC~
I don't know the situation in Scotland, but you may wish to buy online at www.galciv.com 's website. In order to be able to buy in person, your computer/games store has to put the game on the shelf, or accept an order from you. I myself have bought online (actually bought GalCiv+Drengin), downloaded stuff, been playing furiously, and am going to get around to ordering the CD sometime if I don't burn a copy of my archives first. You may wish to do the same. Cheers ~SDC
:CONGRAT: That'd be AWESOME!!!!! ~SDC~
ROFL And it would rock if a minor race (that has been saving up influence for _years_) was allowed in to the UP - ah, the upset, the horror of it all! ;p Damian ~SDC~
Science (particularly anything to do with mathematics) is a common language (sort of). An example I heard of was at a conference of scientists from several countries at a formal dinner, often seated next to people who didn't speak the same language. How they solved the communication problem when one want the salt was to pass a note with the molecular structure of what they wanted. Incompatible language problem solved... at least a little bit. Damian ~SDC~
Who, me? Damian, from New Zealand :) ~SDC~
Me, I'd like the 'Conserve' party to be in power - more jam for everyone! LOL A possible name for a silly party is the McGillicuddy Serious Party which, seriously, got a couple hundred (or was that thousand) votes in the last general election in New Zealand. Including mine, the election before that ;) It's a shame that parties are labelled 'conservatives' or 'progressives' when their actions so often contradict the name (if you were to assume that conservative meant conservat
