Me too, running SP2 but no problem so far :) [Message Edited]

don't just turn them off....you need to uninstall all disc emulation software. Because the new security features searches for either the install location of those emulations or the registry strings.
SafeDisc is the devil. I've had friends who have run into the same problem with Farcry, another Ubisoft title as well as with some Atari titles. Hopefully you can talk the publisher into having the next update not require Safedisc. The main problem there is actually the emulation software
a friend of mine who lives in US and playing it atm tolds me that the game is very buggy. Server crashes a lot. but than again, thats his opionion and he has been playing it since beta. He also mentioned that they released the game even though the developers know that there were still bugs needed to be fixed but they still put forward the released date and released the game.... Again, only one person opinion so im not too bothered, considering this game won't be released until christmas
they released the much anticipated patch for moo3...heard it is much better
One thing is to make sure your moral is high... Also, build culture influence improvement...such as propaganda centre etc etc.
WOOOHOOO Finally i won on Masochistic LOL
-mD- rHyMe: right...let me get this straight...you don't know what CTD stand for?? "I have the retail version? does that make a diffrence at all in the update, CDT thing? (as you can see my computer knowledge (or lack there of) here might be the problem)." No, to your question, it doesn't matter if you have the retail or download. Try this, uninstall galciv completely...ie use the uninstall program and select custom, follow by select all...to delete all files.
shouldn't be any problem. You don't really need the movie files to play or the music file. Heck, you could you use the mp3 player in galciv to play your musics instead....but i never got it to work though :p However, if you are playing on large map...say gigantic...than your specs. would not cut it... Beside, get a new system ;) its cheap these days...you can get a good systems for around $600...or build your own like me :)
Code Monkey: you right...i forgot about the yearly subscription to drengin.net
its a bug...they haven't solved the problem yet. It has happen to me so many times and i found that you can get temp. fix it by saving the game and than restart galciv. The ship should not disappear for the remaining game...hope that help [Message Edited]
ignore my previous post....i wasn't thinking when i wrote it :d
Will...with the success of GalCiv, i doubt it if the publishers will alow those who has access to drengin.net to have it for free ;) Anyway, lets not jump gun yet. Lets wait for the expansion pack and see what kind of improvement has been made ;) However, i am definitly please to hear that there may be a possible GalCiv 2, but i will reserve my judgement...don't want a repeat of MOO3 ;)
yea, uninstall gal civ using the uninstall options than it will ask automatic, repair or custom... select custom than select all and keep selecting all until the end to finish the uninstall.. Restart your computer Instal galciv from your cd or back up copy on your hd Than restart your machine Load stargock...install the bonus pack first than update to 1.05 EDIT: if this is now what you wanted...uninstall stardock and reinstall it aga
If the attacking ship is Ranger and the defending ship is the dreadnought, than The attacking ship is expected to win 54% of engagements, with an average of 17 hit points remaining. If the attacking ship is Dreadnought and the defending ship is the ranger, than The defending ship is expected to win 55% of engagements, with an average of 14 hit points remaining. On average, it would take 2 attacking ships to destroy one defender. bah...i let you decide
if you download the patch from the download page on this board, than simply save the file somewhere, and when the download is complete, double click on the file and it will automatically update galciv. If you planning to update using stardock, simply click update and does it automatically...
After playing several games...i have noticed the following: CTD twice since i updated...none during 1.04 apart from that gov. screen. Games slow down when playing for long hours... Slight problem on how the tech is displayed. Usually, when i seletc "cost" it will show the cheapest at the top and the more expensive at the bottom. But after i updated, it was the other way round. Apart that, pretty rock stable :) oh yea, to solve those problem, i uninstall ga
I don't know if this a good suggestion...but im gonna suggest it anyway... Why not split the scoring system according to the level of defficulty you play? Thus, you have separate ranking for different of level of players... I.E. you have a rank for Masochistic players only, separate rank for normal level etc etc... This way, it will solve a lot problems...
Bah, looks like i need to complete some pure evil games soon :HOT:
Yep, happend to me :( When i try and add a build que in the governer screen :/ I have emailed a copy of the debug.err file Hope it helped
It has been stated before....save games from previous versions may or will not work with new versions of the game ;)
yea it is....now i just need to wait until the weekend to test it out :)
Thanks, im not really bothered at the moment, considering it was only -500. Beside, i sucks anyway ;p Lets hope that it is all fixed and improved when the expansion pack is released ;)
whoa....-500 for my last game after it got re-calculated LOL
Don't know whats going on...now i got -500 for my last game...
