Hmm, yes I have read how about a local author? Say Terry Dowling, who lives in Sydney. Wrote a great set of stories set in a far distant Australia with a weaving of myth, technology, etc. To quote the blurb on the back of the re-issued Rynosseros - "Visit a future where terraforming, genetic engineering and formidable mental scuiences are commonplace, and tribal satelites look down on unending wars...". And the main character in the stories is a captain of a ship! Yes I have read it, w

G'day Slitherin, thanks for the congrats. It is just that playing gigantic takes a long time! Both in elapsed, and towards the end, computer time. Now to other important matters! Hmm, a suitable name. I very much like W.T.F. but our brethern across the ocean (the large ocean over here on the right-hand side of the continent, not the Tasman) are very sensitive about such things being isinterpreted. Maybe Endorphins is very appropriate because I can play them as MP3 will playi

Space Wombat & Drop Bear - very clever! (Gievn you know Peter Frampton, any thougths as to the origin of Hurley??) This is close to real-time, in between other things like pesky work/meetings/etc! Has there been any discussion in the thread as to why people play different galaxy sizes? I play gigantic as I like to longer, strategic approach to such games. Although there are times it is obvious for a long time what the result it, just a matter of when and if any interes

G'day Slitherin, thanks for the pointer on Blue Steel, interesting! Congrats on the latest scores! Now, if I can just fend off the Dregin for long enough my latest battle for galaxy domination will be complete. Wanders off mutterring to self..."cultural conquest? Beyond Human? No, just let God sort them out......." :D

G'day, well having lurked for long enough I thought I had better say g'day. The thread is just excellent. Is there a brief summary of the various sub-groups in our glorious empire? I probably missed it, but the European rocket launched from Woomera in the 60s was Blue Streak, not Blue Steel. (I hate to admit it but I was actually in primary school in Woomera at the day/time of the launch, yes that does make me old.) Thank you for kind words from Slitherin, bakka, & other

Well after many attempts it looks like todays submission has made it! Still would like to know what happenned to prior submission. Should I try again? (I have the saved game.) Is there an underlying problem with submission since 1.05 was released? :notsure:

Thanks T-Man, but just went thorugh the end game etc again got the message saying submitted OK and no change to my metaverse entry. I did notice that the list of civs oesn't show Terrans but a blank name (bug?). Anyway, other ideas? Do you want me to send you the saved end game? :(

Not sure if this a bug or my lack of observation. I have a system gte the cultural discontent warning, signified by the skull and cross bones is seems the skull and cross bones never goes away! This regardless of whatever I build, extend the influence of my civilisation into that sector, even take over (culturally) other races systmes in my secotr. Tell me I am dreaming! :notsure: ~SDC~

Again, don't know if this has been reported, but anyway. If you have a planet reported as being culturally unhappy and about to defect and then later they actually do defect BUT on the turn they defect social production is completed then they appear in your list of systems to then do something with, for example choose another social project. But they belong to the oposition culture! You can do anything until you actually exit that system's screen, swap to other planets in the system, and even de
