I have to love your optimism: " when my PC crashes". - Ash

Sure, from time to time Stardock will make available a patch for those who can't use SDC. But it will be less frequent than the updates that will appear on SDC. I know that was the policy with GalCiv 1 - has that been said in the case of GalCiv 2, as well? I don't have a problem using SDC, but the FAQ posted somewhere around this forum says that you'
the whole stardock central thing is a bit of a mess. Trying to DL GalCiv 1 all those years ago took me hours, with truly atrocious connections speeds. I'll settle for the fact that they've fixed whatever caused *that* headache (although, I am on a completely different connection now than I was back then, which also might have something to do with it
Um... that's the thread in which MeridianMale originally proposed this idea, and hence where this post is "moving from". The idea is meant to be less of a gameplay example/interface walkthrough (not that those aren't good) and more of a general commentary on the design of the game itself. Like a DVD commentary, as he puts it, where the key people essentially get to ramble esoterically about whatever high-minded design principle influenced this decision or that decision, etc. <br/
I think I'd like to see a whole game played out DVD commentary style...where you have 3-4 of the key developers in a room, and you all play the game and talk about what the AI is doing, how the graphics engine works, how you arrived at one design option vs. another option...etc. You, sir, are a genius. Even more so if you can actually talk
I cant remember the exact menu and sub menu to go to because I am at work and it sucks my brain out. Tools --> Settings --> "Games" Tab --> "Installation Path", at the bottom. - Ash
In case anyone is worried by this post, I'll mention that as a regular, non-beta, preorder customer, I received my order e-mail, withe Serial #, a few minutes ago, and have the preload underway as I type this. - Ash
The only thing that is going to suck is how they said they wont be getting it in untill the Feb22 at the earliest. New game release days are one of the few times I resent living in Canada. I don't understand why it's frequently so hard to get games to stores on "release day" up here. Toronto's not exactly a long way from New York. <img src="smiles/To
Heh. Seems like you might try to show it off there, given that the fourth paragraph down that page reads "Interest in the game remains very high and our goal is to have something interesting to show by E3 (May)." Also, I had no idea that project existed... very interesting info. Thanks for the link, GR. - Ash
Thanks. - Ash
Anyone know how big the total download is? - Ash
Just as long as you don't have them on steroids, Frogboy. Cuz then they'd never get into the Hall of Fame. Or something. - Ash
Probably the Campaign (after the Tutorials, of course) unless it seems like the Campaign just throws you into the fire, so to speak, without a decently gradual buildup in difficulty to let me get acclimatized to the game. In that scenario, I'd play some Sandbox games before taking a serious crack at the Campaign. - Ash
