My 2 cents worth: I thought the new scoring system for the Metaverse sounded OK when Frogboy described it. I was wrong. I don't need to say what its faults are: you only have to look at the current Metaverse rankings to see. Since the new version came out, of the top 3 players: one has re-started; one has apparently quit playing; and the other has re-started AND apparently decided not to submit to the Metaverse. RayChua, or Ray CSB as you have transmogified into (wow...sort of like Gandalf) DON'T YOU DARE DISBAND THE WHITE COUNCIL. I have no right to implore you to keep in there, but I will anyway. KEEP IN THERE. Surely, you have the willpower to play as Ray CSB and stay as the White Council without playing the Metaverse. Just don't look at the Metaverse! Galciv will be not as much fun if the Council is disbanded fullstop. Please reconsider. :sniff!:

I Had the unfortunate distinction of being good during the Carter years.... I exactly what you mean :) I agree Pontius. I know I should just think "I'm just playing for fun" yudda yudda. Well, I've tried very hard not to be miffed at the new scoring system. When Frog described it, it sounded fair and it seemed to reward steady, 'build up the infrastructure' players (like me) as well as players who played the maso games (like Staffa and RayChua) and the volume players (like Sergey). And I suggested medals for the members of the top 3 Empires: Empire Medals just like the glorious old days (ie the British Empire). I love the idea for having the number on a medal which shows one's highest placing. As well as the top 3 medal for each map size. Indeed, one's row of medals and awards could take up more room than one's message.
