Oh ho. Thanks for the clarification. I had speculated that after each new update was released, there would be a recalculation of the scores from prior versions. Glad to hear that that is not the case.

And guys, how about a British Empire?? Just take a look at Impune's Euro Alliance for an example of art mimicking life. ;)
Do you also enjoy the great aussie sport of cane toad golfing? I always have a Driver ready when I'm staying in QLD.
No, I live in Sydney and they haven't made it here: its too cold! And what is your Empire sign? It looks like its cool but hard to see at that size !?
Well, I have nothing original to add to this discussion. But I'll add my 2 bits worth anyway. From my perspective, each and every thing that I thought could be improved on in this game, has been, in one form or another. Other things which I really hoped would be added, such as the different tables for map size, have been added. Things I didn't think about, like the faces for one's alignment, have been added. A free expansion pack!! (is this business going to go broke or what??). The support f
Yea, I've noted that UP votes can not be logical. But in the real world allies do vote against each other, and side with immoral Governments. On the other hand, it would be more realistic if money talks in Galciv. I suspect that no civ (of whatever morality) would cut its own throat like that. In one of my games a UP vote concerning whether the top civ the Drengins should pay 5% of their income to all the other civs, every other civ voted against it! I mean really. :notsure:
I'm sorry but I think that some of you guys are delusional. I thought that 6 points was a minimum . Can we get some more heavy hitters like Staffa and Pontius to give us their score: I'm thinking they would be up around 13 points or so? ;)
How cool is Very Evil?? Neutral looks a bit sick. And maybe it should be RayChua the Almost Black. :)
I am totally unconcerned about scores. Ray: I will research The White Council and get back to you (unless someone-else gets in before me). I do recall everyone had a colour: like Radagast the Brown, and Saruman the White etc. Unfortunately that suggests to me that you will be RayChua the Black. But hey, what do I know. I note that your merger boosted The White Council to 4th, but I shan't get hysterical as I did when G.R.O.S.S. passed the ANZACs. (I think Pontius never fully fo
Gosh, I must be a sicko. I got 10! And I do stroke my PC and call her 'good girl'- but I also get the stick out when she's bad. Having the Mac sit next to her keeps her keen though: she tries to please. Well if RayChua only got 5 points my theory is not quite stacking up: unless all of his games are a titanic struggle which he wins thru sheer tenacity and skill? :notsure:
Pontius#88: ANZACs employ the sheep in wolves' clothing ploy very successfully.
Hah! Oh Evil Ray, when is The White Council becoming The Council of Many Colours? Is there to be a new strategy now: how to get an alignment of Pure Good or Pure Evil? ;)
My new strategy is to become Pure Evil. I haven't seen that face yet. To keep up with the Drengins on smaller maps I've found that they will have a love in with you if one gives them all one's trade and the occasional back rub, and being Pure Evil helps. And The White Council is fourth? Give us a break. :notsure:
Yep, I've found that at maso on smaller maps the Drengin strategy of extortion works really well. Because I can't get as many good trades with the minor AND major civs, the Drengin can surge ahead as they rake in the credits. One strategy I am trying is becoming Pure Evil and then setting up my trade routes only with them. They seem to then reciprocate and before you know it there is a love in. Much earlier now, I am conquering the minor civs because they are just a cash cow for the Drengins
Pontius, there is not a chance the old Survey ship behind an asteroid gambit would ever work again. Once Galciv becomes widely available in the Southern Seas, the Top 3 is ours! Can I just check, is Captain after Commander (like the Navy)? I note the discussion on another thread about how you become Veteran is unresolved. Can Captains and Commanders sledge Ensigns, or is that not done anymore?
Autographed copies of Galciv?? Where are they for sale?? Have I missed a thread??
Your mum's accolade: how fantastic! It doesn't get better than that. I like the nickname too! LOL
Wow, it's like a puzzle. If A+B=C, and C-D=F, and B+F-D=H, what is the value of C?
Go Pontius. :D
#57 CariElf: I never had much patience with Clerics and Mages etc. Too much remembering which spell did what, and especially the games where you could use only a limited number of spells in each battle. And I agree: Evil sucks in RPGs (but not in Galciv where it is pretty cool- hate those bunnies). Just keep working on Galciv for as long as they let you CariElf! MM77: Wow, I sorta like being a Terror Star. Its a change of pace from being thought of as a cuddlechops or a diddly puff lik
Wow, Staffa. Your confession on another thread was..unnerving. I'm glad I'm not good at anything in particular, especially gaming. Saw a show recently on gaming in Korea where the top players are treated like movie stars, even with a stretch limo pulling up to the RTS game competition (forget which one). That did look sort of cool.
Wouldn't it be really cool if being a member of a Top 10 Empire gave you a title and being in a Top 3 Empire (or probably Top 4) gave you a medal. Or something like that. That would give the Empire competition a little more *cough* zest. :d
I'm sure Frenchy requires it of his lap poodles, but I need no such favor.
I imagine the Lap Poodles actually lick him rather than give him back rubs.
Now I needto play another tiny map and then start working on large
Yep, the 'small' map is boring.
You can trade with the minor civs to get their influence votes. My sense is that with the latest version it is easier to trade influence points. If a UP vote is coming up and you need a good bloc of votes, see if you can trade with any major or minor civ for extra votes.
It's just tactics: if I pass all of my exams in june, I won't have to redo them in september so I can play a lot more in the summer.
But summer starts in December??!!
And in Australia we love the cane toads. Well, anyway, they love it here. They are just about to destroy Kakadu.
