Ah yes... I'd love to put down some commerce stations out in the Unchartered Territories!

I believe it's already been said they're working on an option to have ships "launch" when built instead of remaining on a planet. Thus a quick scan via the "Find Next" button would take you to newly built ships, instead of clicking on the star system they were built on, finding the ship icon from the stack list, and double-clicking it. Not quite the same thing as setting rally points... but it's a step in the right direction.
Oops... didn't specify that building the "transcendence" wonder is what would actually "win" the game for you as opposed to researching Final Frontier in this idea.
I dunno... I think military and cultural victories are enough for the AI. There's not enough direct action that I as a player can do to stop technology other than stay ahead myself and/or beat down the AIs so the don't get that advanced. Suppose it's late game and I get a message that they're X many turns away from learning Final Frontier... what am I supposed to do about it at that point? If I'm close myself increase my research? If it's a small map go wild eyed crazy and hope to conquer al
Note that I'm very new to the game, and am not quite so much asserting this notion as I am asking about it. Is 90% of the galaxy pretty harsh for achieving a cultural victory? Not just in terms of the player winning this way, but also in making it a victory condition the AI might achieve and thus be something to be afraid of? Just seems like 90% is a whole heck of a lot. Can anyone comment if this amount was fiddled around with much during testing?
Oh, the sector flip-flop *seems* to happen mostly in sectors that recently saw a change in ownership. Ones that a power only recently taken at the time of the save.
Haven't read through to see if this has been posted already, but I've experienced this (playing with the 4/1 1.01a): - I've seen sector control change between saving and loading. That is, a sector that was controlled by me or someone else when I save shows as belonging to someone else when I load the game at a later point. It's often temporary as the influence in the sector hasn't changed... they'll revert back to whoever actually controls the sector in a turn or two but this became V
Benoit - Just so you know, the submission screen comes up (when it does, still iffy for me even with the 1.01a update) AFTER you press "done" on the summary/graph screen.
Not entirely sure how I feel about the whole issue in general but thought I'd share a "random event cost me the game" moment. Note this was my first game in a tiny galaxy. My neighbors were all evil or evil-leaning races. Lo and behold the "Fundamentalist" movement pops up and, in one turn, takes all of the evil races. All of them. Now instead of several modest sized major powers I'm surrounded by one super-powerful "minor" power. A few turns later it turns out I wasn't good enough
I think the best solution would be to introduce a plague spread by dirty telephones.
