Bovine Cannibal said: "Take a spare colony ship, and load 500 million people from your homeworld and send it to your least populated planet. The turn after it lands, ..." How does this work. I wanted to off load the colonists from a poorly designed colony ship but couldn't do it. When I put the ship in orbit I click the launch button. I then moved the slider until it said 1 million colonists. The 499 million others disappeared and didn't get added to the planet.

Thanks for the clear instructions. How do I verify I have a subscription to Drengin.net? I start the Drengin Game Manager and click on user info button. This opens a box showing subscription information and a serial number with expiration date (11/9/03). When I paste this number into the Stardock Tools->Register Products the product selector goes to Galciv. When I reselect Drengin the serial number goes blank. I presume this tells me I'm not a Drengin subscriber after all. Is this
I didn't realize it but I am a subscriber to Drengin.net until 11/9/03. Thus I wantn't to obtain the beta to the expansion pack. Damned if I can figure out how. Can someone help? Thanks ~SDC~
A couple of games ago I was planning an invasion. I built a fleet of 16 constructors. The day of the invasion they deployed in an enemy sector and built 2 starbases with attack modules so my fleet could decimate the orbiting ships. The AI fleets at this point were superior in type and A/D/HP and this allowed me to succeed in the sector takeover. (A sector with 6 systems that in the previous year was effected by that +15PQ event. A plump plumb indeed :) )
Ditto with zodden. I loaded previous save game and noticed right away the little locks were gone. Deleted the save games and started a new one and they are still gone. I'm sure that wasn't a desired result of the upgrade ;) ~SDC~
Great ideas both. I'll give them a shot. Thanks! ~SDC~
A quick summary of where I'm at: The Torians are neutral and have the largest military. The Arceans are neutral and are in last place. The Altarians are saitly and are in third place, behind me. The Yor and Drengin have been assimulated.. I'm allied with the Altarians. Have been from the beginning with all trade routes established with them (7 currently) worth about 1100 BC. The Torians are warm toward me but won't ally with me and the Arceans remain neutral no mate
Jellis2, from one newbie to the next (the blind leading the blind :) ): I don't believe the physical appearence has any bearing. Only the Planet Quality (PQ) number is relevant, the higher the better. I've not noticed this, however if a poor PQ planet is settled (<15 I think) income from PQ is zero and maybe it takes a month to get the population income going. Will need to check this.
Za H, you said, "I am aware that research spending does not suffer diminishing return penalties at high level". I'm confused about this bonus buisness. For example, I'm at a point at my current game where I increase the tech spending slider and my deficit gets larger. Wouldn't this reflect somekind of penalty?
Rex, once a colony ship is launched, pop can only be transfered from the ship to a planet. This causes the ship to disappear after starting a colony or transferring the pop to a planet. For moving pop around, I think transports work better since the ship will be placed into orbit after the pop is transferred to the planet and can be reused.
