"In the game, you can give or ask for licenses for Trade Goods, allowing the reciever's empire to benefit from the good as if they built it, except that they can't pass out licenses." That's the part I don't get.. how do you do this? I have not seen an option for it. I have sold the monopolized tech to other races, but I have not been able to license it. Or do I really still own the thing and don't know it? I'm totally confused on this.. For instance, what benefit comes of

In my current game I did stick with Imperial for quite a while because I wanted to avoid losing any planets for morale deficiencies, but after they had developed (basically, toward the beginning of midgame) I switched quickly down to the Star Federation (one at a time) because once your planets are out of danger, they make a lot more money through the SF.. Now I only get morale problems with population trouble.. which I solve by building combat transports to nowhere..
I see people mentioning "licensing" tech and products.. I can't find any way to do a proper licensing deal; do they just mean having the other guy pay over time, more like a loan than a license? I am scratching my head furiously over this one.. :notsure:
Excellent answers and thanks to you both! :CONGRAT:
Ok, I have the downloaded version of the game on my laptop with no printer, so reading the manual with my bad eyes is a difficult thing.. which I only mention in case it pursuades someone to have mercy and cut me some slack.. Embarassing question #1: How do you get ships to stack? I put them together but they just come apart again.. :notsure: Embarassing question #2: Can starbases only be built on those resources? Seems like you oughtta be able to build them to give you mor
I have only been allied to a minor race in my first game here, but I've been able to negotiate peace while they were still fighting. Can you not do that if you want? I then went to the trouble of trying to get my ally to take a peace deal with my former enemy, but he wasn't interested. Yet he still thinks *I'm* alright. Not an answer to your question, I know, but possibly a work around until you hear an official word.
Well I think there is a certain segment of the MOO3 players who are bitter bitter bitter about how GalCiv turned out cool, and MOO3 turned out stinky. I really expected this kind of trolling only because I know what they've been like over at IGMOO. I wish it wouldn't happen tho, because GalCiv is awesome, and it's still possible MOO3 can be saved. But there just isn't any way someone who likes this kind of game can be *that* disappointed with GalCiv. Especially with the level of supp
Do you mean at Stardock Central you can't find the patch? Did you try putting your serial number back into the profile.. dang I can't remember what to do for that if you didn't try it, but that was my problem. Somehow the serial number had been erased and I wasn't registered anymore.
I say the questions aren't valid unless you are making a point with them, such as "if these conditions are true, then they ruin the fun of my game". I say they are written in an unnecessarily provokative manner. I say they have troll written all over them. Plus, I trained my Trollomatic Occular on his post and it went off like a steampipe at quittin time..
Padlock is totally trolling. You guys did a good job providing enough info, and he is so obviously NOT going to be satisfied with anything you might say. If you doubt he might be trolling, just look at the basis of his question. He doesn't state or even imply that his fun has been impacted, he just asks what he thinks are embarassing questions.. T R O L L !! Back under your bridge.
If you are at war, or in danger of war, the war party does very well in the polls. In times of peace, though, the war party doesn't do so well; but I've never seen another party seize control of the Senate (I am always the federalists).
