I like all of your suggestions, especially the military governor one. I don't know if that one will ever be implemented, as it may be too hard to do so, and even then it could perhaps make the game too automatic. On the other hand, I'd also like "auto-explore" commands (for scouts), "search for anomalies" (for survey ships), "patrol" (keep moving between 2 sectors, if an enemy ship enters the sector you're in, attack it, then resume the patrol), "escort" (to protect transports, colony s

This came as a bit of a surprise to me, though I kind of like the way it happened. I was playing with the computer players all set to Normal intelligence. Drengin were pure evil, Tor were chaotic good. For much of the beginning part of the game, I was the top civilization economy- and research-wise, but the Drengin (evil) had the biggest military, and were successfully threatening everyone for money, including me. After a while, I got tired of it and started building up my mili

I hate to be unoriginal, but... I have to agree with the rest of this thread. Wonderful game, and I'm amazed at the quality and quantity of the support. You guys at Stardock already have my money, and I'm recommending GalCiv to every lover of strategy games I know. ~SDC~

I wish the player could also propose some issues to be voted in the UP, like in Sid Meier's Alpha Centauri... In SMAC, you can call a meeting yourself, and the changes you can propose (like forbidding/allowing atrocities, elect the planetary governor, etc.) depend on which technologies you already have, so they aren't all available at the beginning of the game. I think something like this could work in GalCiv, as well. What do you guys think? ~SDC~

Hi. When I ordered the game directly from Stardock, I chose the option to receive a CD. As I live alone and I'm almost always outside during the day, I typed in my brother's name and address, as he's always home and thus I could avoid going to the post office to get the game. Meanwhile, of course, I've downloaded the game and have been playing it... however, my account ("Dehumanizer") seems to have my brother's name, instead of mine. I've looked everywhere, and can't find an option to

Going there, I seem to be able to edit everything but the name. When I bought the game, I ordered it to be shipped to my brother's, and typed his name; now, in the metaverse, it's HIS name that is shown, and I can't find a way to change that. :( Any ideas? ~SDC~

#3, 1- wish I knew, too... 2- most of my games begin that way, too, but later on I usually can get ahead of them in techs. I'm playing with "sub-normal" AIs, though. 3- trade goods, from my understanding, *are* supposed to be exclusive. Right, people? 4- "Aphrodisiac" is one example of a trade good. I believe it affects all your empire. ~SDC~
