That would require editor. It is much easier to just let humans to observe the game than making the editor. It hardly requires an editor to add the planet -- people are making them already. Its time consuming, but to add one planet is the work (literally) of seconds.
I am sorry, but the average user will not go and edit file (I am not sure if it is even text file, probably not). So,

I understand that it may be not for everyone, but I often in an RTS game enjoy just watching AI fight with each other. Currently this game does not allow you to do it - you have to be present in the game as a participant. Can you please make it possible just to observer the game? I believe it is very easy change, yet so much joy to me
You'll probably be given a loading screen with text, describing what you have to do and why it's important. Once the map starts you'll probably be given some objectives to get, such as take control of these 3 planets, and don't lose planet X or capship X" ect.
So this would be like in GalCiv II. However I would argue that this is quite traditional way to do campaign.

I would not want them to be stronger. At this stage I feel they are just right. However I know some people like more pirates. May be we can have an option of how man pirates we can have? Like in Civ games you can regulate the amount of barbarians in game setup.

Well, I prefer instead of clicking that star to have one small button on the interface. Which is like "Global". If you press it, then you do "global" commands, like rally point or ship build queue. Yet I still prefer the lighting up idea.

The empire tree does not produce easy way to see where I can build the station. Also try to find a single scout in your 10+ planets and 50+ ships. Good luck! I think my suggestion would so much simplify the most tedious task in the game - search for the right planet/ship. Or do I miss something in the empire tree interface? How do you currently find the planet with enough spots to build the station? Or how do you find the scout which you do not remember where is it?

First of all, love the game. However, one of the most annoying thing about it is when I have many planets, I have difficulty finding the best place to build some structure, typically a research station. That's because I have no idea where I have the free place on mine 10+ planets. Here is what I think can be done: When you mouse over the structure (or ship or planet upgrade) in the build menu (bottom right of the screen), even if it is grayed out, then all planets on

He dies have some point though. Currently there is no any help to manage many planets. For example there is no way to see where I can build that research center i.e. which planet has available slots. Or which Planet I can upgrade and so on... Something like empire management screen would be great.

One of the things that I do not like is when I want to check what ships are near particular planet, the logical way is to select everything near that planet. Guess what - there is no selection window, and if the planet is minimized in the empire management strip - you will not see anything at all! Perhaps have a node at the top of the empire tree that shows the current selection?

Aye Kyro, that is the tip of the iceberg of the problems we found with basic shapes. The Supreme Commander system is almost exactly what we implemented at first (when we were building the engine that Sins would eventually run on and before it was even known that SupCom was in development) and it just didn't cut it but I'm all ears for ways to improve it <img id="ImageResize_Image_2" onload="ImageResizer.createOn(this);" src="http://images.stardock.com/gc2/T_DL/smiles/

"The bounty on this empire just increased" or something like this. It is SO annoying to hear bounty messages EACH 30 SECONDS or more often. It MUST go away!

By the way, what do you guys think about adding selection window as I have described (or rather re-using the window which you see when you hover mouse pointer over fleet icons in empire management strip)?

First of all, thanks for all replies. even after you read my thread warning you about this... I think I'll create my own thread masterpiece, just because I've had enough of not having my comments noticed in favor of these random-comments-o'-mine threads. yep, and I encourage you to do this. I will gladly give my opinions on your suggestions. you'll get used to the small differences, and personally, I

First of all, the game has great potential, but it needs a lot of work to do. First the interface. This is EXTREAMELY important for this game of this scale. Most of the time I feel lost because of the interface. I can effectively govern the empire even with the few planet and fields. Here are my suggestions: 1) Zooming in should be to the point where the mouse pointer is located. This way, by zooming out and then in you can move very efficiently across the map. I know

I am not sure that it is inefficient. I would guess that Ironclad and SD guys have their own lists, and they just randomly pull ideas from the threads, when they see something useful. Plus I would prefer first discuss ideas separately, and only then move them into those more official lists.

ok, enough. sorry bootleg, I'm about to scapegoat you for something that has been going on for FAR too long. guys: quit it with the "pay attention to me" threads, if you have feedback that pertains to the game, stick it in either the gameplay feedback thread, the technical feedback thread, or in a thread specific to one important topic. I am confused. The forum is called "Beta feedback" and we are not supposed to give

I dont think its necessary to use symbols for the modules or capital ships, just the little stuff. Same here. I think it will be a good middle ground. For huge structures and may be for capital ships use increased version with black outline of whatever we have right now. For all other ships use abstract icons with function symbol inside.

OK, I give up trying to insert image. Just follow the link http://www.mypicshare.com/rolo5ozxpic.html Please remember, because of the jpg compression, the picture looks not as clear as in-game. Things to note: A) Black outline of all icons, make them easy to see B) The type of the vehicle is denoted by shape. For example a square is structure, a triangle with low side being horizontal denotes plane and
