Here's my list in order of priority: 1) Searchable in-game tech-tree inspired as closely as possible by the one in CivIII. yes, this will take significant effort but it is an absolute must for this games final polishing. At the very least, we need to be able to click on hyperlinks for a given tech and trace forward all the way through the tech tree. Also, we should be able to click on any item which appears in a given tech window (i.e. social, modules, military etc.) and get the des

Thanks Brad! Now I can stop my campaign to get this issue noticed :) Congratulations on all your hard-work (which shows in the game) paying off with the master-piece called "Galactic Civilizations". Also, brilliant idea that it is still a work in progress, it truely scares me to think of where this game will be one year from now! Stardock has a lock on my future gaming money!!! ;) ~SDC~
Mr. Lucky, I had thought something along those lines, but I admit I had not fully considered your point. Of course, by the very definition of the explanation, we cannot prove or disprove this theory, since the masking effect would not be observable, just assumed. I can say, that IF that is the explanation, then it is both unintentional from a game design aspect and needs to be fixed. I am currently playing a game on a medium size galaxy with 8 current colonies under a republic goverm
The propaganda slider does not seem to be connected to the rest of the economic model. In other words, you can max out propaganda on every planet you have and not pay anything for it except for the efficiency gains from the morale increase. So, yes, the slider effects morale, but the cost of the propaganda is never deducted at any point. I have just confirmed this with the April 1 patch (1.01a31). I used a late stage save game and did a max propaganda or without the maximizing and there was
Arturus, I appreciate your reply, but I know almost for a fact that you are assuming this to be correct. I just went into a game, maximized my propaganda spending and compared my next turn treasury with and without propaganda spending. There is no effect except for the few bc of efficency gains from the morale increase. The game is not deducting the cost it claims for propaganda. As of right now, version 1.01a31 (or whatever it is today April 1), propaganda is free. Unless someone
Yes, I had this problem also. Download the Stardock central file, follow the directions and get your updates that way. this worked for me, and I was getting the EXACT same errors when I tried to download the bonus pack directly. This alternative approach requires a few more steps such as an additional registration, but all future updates are going to require this method anyways.
Has anyone else noticed that the revenue directed towards propaganda is not subtracted at all, at any point from the economic model each month? Yes, it directely effects morale, and yes any boost you get in social or military production from this morale boost is subtracted, but if the slider says 11bc for 100% propaganda, you NEVER actually pay it. I have spent some time trying to see where I am missing this and I would love for someone to explain how this is not a bug OR for a quick bug fix f
First off, I am in love with this game, and I would like to say that Brad and co. are definitely in the right business and at the right time. :CONGRAT: I have downloaded the multimedia add-on through stardock central and have not seen any changes. Should I have done an additional step or more to apply this add-on? In a possibly related issue, I noticed the new "animate ship info" option in the game menu, but turning it on does nothing (I can see so far). Are all the ship info wind
Yeah, I was annoyed by this to. (I just bought the game three days ago). You will notice if you have not installed the bonus pak, this occurs. Install the bonus pak and it Stops. Now, I am not saying that it will never do this or whether the original observation is intentional. This may be either a gameplay tweak or an outright fix. But I am much more happier knowing that if I set propaganda it stays there for a planet. Get the bonus pak. It improves the game immensely. Oh, also I coul
