Congrats FC! Finally got one game submitted, influence victory on a tiny map, paltry score. Hopefully I'll have more time this week to play.

Heads up for my fellow Diplomats! Civfanatics is running a contest, sponsored by Stardock, which will give 10 lucky folk a free copy of the Collector's Edition. There have already been over 400 entries since last night! And BTW, the new forum is growing fast, if you haven't checked it out, you should. All you have to do to enter is sign up on the thread located in the new GCII forum at the following link: http://forums.civfanatics.com/forumdisplay.php?f=192<br/
Whew, had me worried there for a sec, couldn't believe that would be the case. Thanks for the quick replies guys, was just about to continue a metaverse game started yesterday, and really wanted to be sure first. I had hoped to be able to start and finish over the weekend, but Saturday just wouldn't cooperate with my plans. Now, back to my Yor-less universe.
Wait a second here, are you guys saying that if I load a saved game started in the Metaverse, without first logging back into the metaverse, that game won't be accepted? If that's the case, I'm about to become a very unhappy customer.
@Damoose, classic games, no electronics, though I have had in store PC gaming in the past, and may be re-instituting it this summer. Primarily carry boardgames, CCGs, and RPGs, and run a lot of tournaments, including premier events for MtG. Gotta agree with some of the comments about the forums here, I'm not in love with them, though the company's great. For any of you interested, CivFanatics has opened a new sub-forum for GC2, yesterday in fact, and there are already over 250 posts
The tutorials are actually very good, you should give them a look. Also, the journals section has some very good game examples.
Thanks for that link, Rhadman, had me rolling. Good stuff.
I have a Radeon as well, 2 of them actually, a 9600 on my work PC, and a 9800XT on my home rig. CivIV runs just fine on both machines, as does GalCiv2. But, I do sympathize with those whose machines aren't able to run either one, they're missing out on 2 great games. Back on topic, the new GalCiv2 sub-forum is now open for business at CFC, check it out here: http://forums.civfanatics.com/forumdisplay.php?f=192 Many thanks to Thunderfall and co.! <img
For some reason, I just expect other web sites to have people trolling about about the game, but instead there seems to be a general feeling of...for lack of a better word...love flowing about the title. Agreed. Though Gamespot has yet to publish their review, the user reviews have been almost unanimously positive, and are ave
There's been a lot of discussion about GC2 at Civfanatics the past week, I post there as Duelingground. Game discussion thread: http://forums.civfanatics.com/showthread.php?t=157758 2 ongoing reviews: http://forums.civfanatics.com/showthread.php?t=161193 http://forums.civfanatics.com/showthread.php?t=160915 And finally, a petition to give GalCiv it's own subforum that is gaining momentum. http://forums.civfanatics.co
Cool beans, and thanks for the welcome, guys. I'm guessing I need to create a metaverse character before joining, will try to do that tonight or tomorrow, as well as get signed up at the Core. I doubt that I'll get a game submitted before Sunday or so, am in the middle of some renovating of my game store, the spring cleaning bug has bitten me rather viciously. Don't know what it's like where the lot of you are, but here in Myrtle Beach, it's been beeyootiful, short sleeve
Howdy all, how would one go about tendering a request to be included in this empire? Definitely seems the place to be, looking forward to crushing Yor, and a bit of chatting in between.
Excellent to see so many familiar names are still around, drinks are on me, barkeep. Sorry that I allowed myself to fall out of touch. Sounds like the Diplomats are the ticket for me, though I agree with Mag on the defintion of diplomacy.
Game I'm currently playing has a class 26 also, it's very nice. What's the best bonus tile anyone has found? My homeworld has a 700% manufacturing bonus tile, along with several other lesser ones. Cranks is an understatement.
Great tale, Ashenai, look forward to reading more, with all the whistles and bells. Talon, if I may be so bold, might I suggest some spacing amongst your words. It would make a world of difference reading them. Paragraphs are our friends, and provide the pause for our brains to process the information presented. In other words, I tried reading your story, but my eyes glazed over after a couple of sentences.
Have they all fallen to the Yor? Have they been assimilated into another empire? I've been away from the forums for a long while, but GC2 has got me hooked, big time, and before I submit a game, I'd like to do so as part of an empire. Anyone know what's up with the GG?
I use all of the SD certified ones, and would love to see a sort feature for just those. I've had no probs with submissions, and the new ships and capitals are really quite cool. It would be quite nice if the final version of AP included the SD tested and approved ones, lots of good stuff there, fsk's suggestion would also be very cool.
Some events are also worth more towards alignment change then others. Get some small ones, and it will take many. Get a big one, and it will only take that one
So far, it appears to me that those which give a modifier of +/- 20% or so will shift you from Neutral, haven't experimented with shifting from Evil to Good, or vice versa.
This info should really be included in some form on the Metaverse link, possibly the Legend location. I've see this asked several times quite recently, though a couple of those may be hidden in Empire threads, as well, if the Metaverse factor is one of the keys to the game's sales, longevity, and overall player participation level, having this basic type of information available to players, and easily accessible seems to me worth the time investment required to make it so.

What he said, good stuff!
I actually don't have Paladin in the game. Interesting but really i was looking for it. I got Wraith and Vampire.
Yep, sounds like you're walking on the Dark side, Athilla, come back to the Light!
Howdy.
I read some where that it is the hardest victory to get. Is this true?
I didn't find it to be, though mileage may vay, sepending on your settings(Galaxy size, planets, etc.). Of course, difficulty level is the main determinant here.
What are the best bonus stats to add on?
That's really a matter of play style, but Econ, PQ, Speed, Morale and Pop. Growth are all good choices. The main thing is, play with a party and picks you're comfo
I agree, Star Pilot, money does seem to make up for most other weaknesses, with population not far behind. Just finished a game with +50Econ/+70Pop, and the money just rolls in. Though nest time I think I'll drop the Pop. a bit, add a little something to the Morale. It took quite a bit of slider adjustment early on, until I'd gotten some good morale boosting tech, just to deal with the growth. GoblinCookie, that tech race does sound fun, I think I'll give that a go soon.
