Finally, M**3 SP2!!!! No, really, it's great so far, it's getting to be a real time sink, 6 to 8 hrs for a game (in one sitting). One thing, can you make the background nebula anything but GREEN???? It's really, really hard to make out your (and allies) icons & stuff when everything is green. The best I've had so far is the plain starfield background, mostly black with just stars. Or make the background user selectable in the options. Thanks, pek

I have played a couple of games with beta II, here's what I have found a problem with: 1. The plot trqace in the minimap doesn't update unless you either; a) cross your own territory or b) come to a location that you haven't been to before. Then it updates on the minimap. And even when you changes course, the minimap doesn't change until those criteria are met. 2. Research is screwed up. In beta 1, you could see research progress and research new t

When you design/build a custom ship, there is no icon for the map after it's launched, just a leeeetle dot. I you don't pay close attention, you can and will lose track of your ships. It's not bad when you build an extended range colony ship, it just goes to a panet. But an enhanced range transport and attack/defense ships are very, very hard to keep track of. Minor point, but trying out all the things that I can. pek

I noticed that when you design then build a new ship there isn't an icon for it on the map, just barely a dot. This makes it very difficult to track them when you're invading, or even when you just launched it from orbit. To colonize planets out of your original range you need to build colony ships with the enhanced support. Also, to build transports and fighting ships to attack planets you need to have a custom ship. pek

OK, found it. It's in \documents and Settings\my username\My Documents\My Games\Galciv2. Didn't think to look there. When you folks do an overhaul you go all the way. I found the turn button does come back if you play with the view. I do have the latest patches through SD (well, they're a bit big to call them just patches). That part works OK so far. I've been able to play a game to the end now. BUT.... I can't reload the game from a save, get a CTD. Game st

I have noticed that I can't save a game, I have autosave turned off in case of the disappearing turn button (which still disappears, btw). So when the turn button goes away and I save a game, there's nothing to load when I restart GCII, so GCII crashes to desktop. Permissions seem to be ok on the GCII directory, but the game doesn't save. At least I can't find it in any of the drengin or stardock folders. My system: Asus A7V333 w/Athlon XP 1700+
