Hmmm, But there's no multiplayer option, or we can have a go at each other =). It'll be cool if the computer does that or recognises that danger. Another thing is that it's not hard to get such a setup done in every quadrant you have a presence in. Eg send 1 ship with 20+ constructors to a quadrant you want to invade... you get the drift. Furthermore, unlike planets, starbases cannot be subverted, making them immune to high culture influence. So by having

Should starbases be nerfed? Try this. 1) Build 5 starbases in 1 quadrant. 2) Get all the military upgrades on all of them. 3) Is that a 80/30 constructor that can kill a dreadnaught I see??? I think starbases should not stack, I feel that it's not very logical and breaks balance in a major way. What do you guys out there think?

Hi, I think population affects production in a minor way only. It's Planetary quality that affects it much more. Cant be too sure but I've had planets with same population but different qualities eg (14 vs 18) at same upgrades producing very differently in terms of build times. Also, starbase upgrades seems to be key in getting production up. Why get 1 starbase only when you can have 2 at twice the price =)...

Hi, I've been mucking around lately with weirder strats. The scenario: 1. Find a quadrant with many planets of 14+ and above in quality (I found one with about 10). 2. Colonies them all and stay in that quadrant. Don't expand. IE have only 1 quadrant. 3. Starbases, starbases and starbases =) I've found out that with starbases you can basically make those 10 bases EXTREMELY powerful churning out dreadnaugths in 1 turn, building wonders in 4 turns or less etc etc
