You can certainly run the game with that. I don't know how well, Beta is meant to be a lot more optimised (coming out tomorrow), but I'd guess maybe on the standard default setting, so not low or high. A GPU upgrade will help a lot more than RAM upgrade. A 960 is better obviously, looking at some things online it looks like how much better depends on the game. 960 is far better at games which use a lot of tessellation for example, I think. But I am not totally sure it is
What is your system? Last night I tried to get as many units as possible to see how it did before crashing. Someone said they got to a logistics value of 18000 which is way higher than I had seen elsewhere. I got to 10,000 before it crashed. that was on DX11. I loaded it up the save game in DX12 but it still crashed around the 10K logistics mark. Frame rate had dropped a bit but other than that I didn't notice any slow down or other graphic glitches (edge of map glitch is there fr
Well...darn :( I understand it is out of your control so no hard feelings but...darn, I was really looking forward to getting it to play with brothers.
The core reason they are not interested is that their primary genres are FPS and MOBA games. It's nothing against Ashes, it's just not their genre.
Fair enough, I would have added it could be a genre thing but it had turned into talking about possible promotion problems with the game rather than your specific circumstances.
1. Windows 10 fails to host game, game launches then crashes- had to reboot computer it was locked up tight.
I don't think that is a common occurrence for Windows 10 users, not sure what is happening there.
2. My Cross-fire is disabled
Not supported yet, multi GPU support coming real soon though. Might even be in the Beta through dx12, not sure though. I'd expect traditional dx11 CF/SLI later as that needs AMD and nvidi
I think he put the red text because the tube in youtube has red around it. And he is not wrong, I see the button for youtube too, but it is missing on your image. It should be in the top right corner where you have a space on yours, to the right of "ab" and above the preview button (paper and magnifying glass it looks like). I thought it might be because I am using google chrome and they now own youtube so sometimes integrate it into things. But loading the page with Explorer still sh
That is a shame. The game is fun to play, and should get more so, but as something to watch, with its slower pace, it is not so immediately evident for some I think. I.e. Once you get into it and play it then it is a lot more hectic and fun than it looks from just watching someone play. When you just watch it you also notice how plain the terrain maps are. I don't mean textures, I mean things which visually break the terrain up, like bodies of water, rocks/boulders, interactable for
i have about 20 clan members that are awaiting to get in the game, any more keys for founders ?
Premium Founders should get two keys in total. One was for just the Beta and the other a permanent one (I think). Founders who just got the game instead of all the expansions/DLC should get a extra key just for the Beta. (sorry if you knew that) Keen to get mine to play with my brothers. They will get the full version at
BTW : damn! DOK must have meant a lot to him for him to come out and make another video despite his state. you guys think there's a chance of him making a Ashes video at all?
Having a look at his youtube channel it looks like he posts at least a couple of videos a week still. 6 videos in the last week. But I suspect he has ups and downs and the release of the game is still some months off. It is possible though, I th
To Eviator's points, 1) Dead on and needs to be fixed. 2) Dead on again. You could see some of the enemy Brutes also hanging back at points for no reason. As it stands I can see it being useful to use meta units when moving around the map but when it comes to attacking a position it may often be best to disband the army. I think nodes could give a little more sight around them, you can see nothing in your own supposedly controlled region doesn't seem right.
What sort of feedback do you want from this, if any? Looks like I wrote some anyway :) I saw some bugs like the Sentinals not firing, (if not finished being built needs to be more obvious), and the same sound bug at the end, and I was surprised the overcharge only worked for 10 seconds, I thought it was meant to be the 3rd tier resource expansion which stacked and allowed you grow economically all through the game? (EDIT: Looks like the ability was actually called Boost so perhaps it
New Benchmark: I think we are getting this with the Beta right? Can you tell us a little more about it? I assume that it will be using the Substrate and be using the newer FX and textures but is there any more to it than that? I would really like to see a graphic representation of the CPU cores and how hard they are working during the benchmark. This would a useful visualisation to show how hard the game pushes the CPU as well as the difference in core utiliza
The Vault is working now and it is all in there. Though everything must have got re-uploaded as everything has the same date attached to it so you will have to dig around for stuff you haven't seen before. There is one new item with a separate more recent date on it. We saw something like it in the Vault many months back but this one is of a much higher quality...little bit of fun stuff...those units better spin on there axis from time to time in-game too though :p
Guys, I dunno how you are playing but those large white circles are not the normal selection rings. The only way I can bring them up and keep them up consistently is by Alt-Tabbing out of and then back into the game. Hitting Alt brings them up temporarily. They are definitely some kind of range indicator. The actual selection rings are tight green bands. That is indeed the concept picture I was looking for ASADDF, thank you! I didn't realise it was
You guys are so good with these mock ups, but can you talk a little more about this. The white circles in the "what we have" are their range lines right, very short so I guess they are brutes? (or are they their radar?) The lines you have created look like selection circles? They look pretty funky though perhaps as a mod rather than vanilla, or maybe I am old and boring. What are the numbers in red? The selection group I assume? Talking about the
Keyboard config is important for release, mostly because a lot of high end youtubers like TB who are going to promote this, might bash on the game just purely for this reason. Im not to fussed but obviosly first impressions mean a lot.
My thoughts follow your own, not too fussed for myself, especially as I know it is coming later, but first impressions mean a lot. First impressions are so important. I can guarant
Yea, originally naval was slated for August 2016. However, after all the feedback we've gotten it's been decided to leave the date more flexible so that we can potentially put those engineering resoruces into other things (new types of buildings for example or additional units);
Thanks for the clarification. All sounds good, though I can't wait for naval and water myself. You guys are pretty talented wit
Keyboard reconfiguration is on the list but I am not sure if it'll make it in for 1.0. In particular, we want people to be able to map wasd for map movement.
Yeah, I think part of the feedback on homeworld was for wasd, part on principle/desire to change to personal taste, and part was from left handed players.
Did the Devs confirm whether the keys would be re-bindable or not come release? Didn't want to start a new thread about it but reading stuff about the new Homeworld game and one of the frequent complaints I come across is about the keys not being re-bindable.
We can not consider a good game just for graphics.
Of course, but the thread is about explosion graphics so that is what I talked about. Nothing wrong with that at all. It may not be the deepest thing to talk about but as Beta is approaching and things get fine tuned then why not? People shouldn't feel the need to defend the game on everything, this is just a friendly sharing of opinions.
In a Dev video of Homeworld I saw I have to admit some of the larger explosions looked pretty good. Thick black voluminous smoke billowing up like a small tower. I don't know if they would have held up getting in close though (they are at a distance) as the game doesn't have the fidelity of Ashes. But a bit of inky black voluminous smoke wouldn't go amiss in Ashes. But I also like the initial bright flash we have on buildings at the moment. Even if you are zoomed
Re # of players. Essentially, we've made more progress on bandwidth use than I had anticipated we would. So while we're locked on the # of players for now (UI, map designs, etc.) for now, it appears we could get to 16 players (14 humans, 1 neutral, 1 observer). It'll require maps and UI changes along with some changes to how we identify players internally. The first sign that it's coming will
