Have you researched the the correct life support, shielding, armor and everything? Please give exact examples, ie, I should be able to to build the Terran Defender. I have Laser I, Impulse II and so on and so on. Tony

It it the same AI all over the map? I assume different AI's have colonized different areas based on their starting position. Starbases increase range, so it is possible the AI has built one or two to extend range. Tony
I don't see the "Never" message for production and research unless I have gone negative with my cash balance. Seems to be working for me. I'm not seeing the End Turn problems you are describing. I play normal, and I see AI troop transports being escorted a lot. Not every time, but it is common. The AI attacks have pretty effective in my opinion. Tony
The campaign game may not unlock some designs in some missions. Can you give an example of what ship you are trying to get and what techs you have already? Tony
Okay so there is a 1.0X download available here. And when I went to download it.. I've got two copies. One is from the 3rd, and the todays. What's different between them? If Any? There are a few more tweaks. The change log details all the changes. Tony
Some nice ideas there. I agree with many of your suggestions. There are a couple of things you can do already that you may not realize: 4. When selecting a component in the added components list perhaps highlight it on the ship to make it quicker to find. Allow for quick removal by right clicking on the listed component to remove it <br/
You might try refreshing your cache of your browser. What happens when you select "update game" from the opening GalCiv2 game menu? Tony
When I click on the gree "Download" button following the link in your post, the first item I see is as follows. Note the first line in the description says it has the latest updates to the game (1.0x): Galactic Civilizations II Bonus Pack (includes latest version): The Bonus Pack is now out and downloadable via Stardock Central (v1.0D or higher) or you can download it directly here. The Bonus Pack includes: + Latest updates to the game (1.0X) + Additiona
As far as your version number, the main launch screen, where you can Start a Campaign, select new game and so on should indicact 1.0X in the bottom left hand corner. If you are unsure, you can press the update game button in the first screen and it will check for any updates. Research propulsion techs right away and build new Constructors/Colony Ships with more engines and better speed. Purchase ships right away, don't wait for them to get built. That should help with the initial l
Those Zero planets can become habital through random events. Tony
If your ships do not have a defense rating, there is nothing to boost. It seems to be working correclty for me when it is assisting ships that have some sort of defense rating already. Tony
If you get a tech, you get to use it. Tony
The stardock download version is the CE edition. If you have them send the CD, you will get a temp serial number so you can start playing while you wait for the CD. The box stardock sends out is the CE box, with the cool silver box and fold-out tech tree. Wallmart carries only the CE edtion as well, both online and in stores. Tony
You can use your mouse scroll wheel to zoom, just like on the maps. I find it very precise that way. Tony
Pressing the scroll wheel for works for me on my two button mouse to control the camera. Tony
I would argue you guys are generalizing when you say the majority of players are unhappy with the current system. There are some vocal folks that have some good points, but I don't have a problem with the way it works now, and I suspect many others don't either. I don't want to be an economist, I just want to conquer the galaxy. I write off lost production to economic inefficiencies, company profit or whatever. I think the ability to emphasize military, research or social is all we
Your assuming they are Earth weeks/years. Tony

The ships in orbit screen tooltips are completely gone. In the previous versions, the tooltips would only work for ships in the top row. With 1.0X, the tooltips do not work for either row. Tony
I noticed that as well. Before the 1.0x update, only ships in the top row would have active tooltips. Now neither row has tooltips. As another middle-aged gamer, I would really like to see them return. Tony
That's how its done. You can use waypoint to help in sending constructors. Tony
You should get Stinger II, Stinger III, Stinger IV, etc. They do the same damage as Stinger, but are smaller (and should cost more). That is correct. Many of the weapons, defense, and enginge techs work the same. There are several versions which are just smaller versions of the previous version, allowing you to put more stuff on a ship. <br
There are usually two mirrored items next to each other in the drop down. Did you try the next item above or below it to see if it is what you are looking for? Tony
If it is a CE edition, it has all the stuff. Tony
its annoying holding down the mouse and moving the screen... i like the edge moving... its on all games and will always be there Well, GalCiv2 proved that theory wrong. Sorry, couldn't resist. I actually find the drag-click method much quicker, eas
