Ok I'm gonna start to create star wars ships, but it will take a while... For the moment I will just work on graphics...
gal lord
If a modder wants some 'star wars like' pictures, just say it ! Tell me what and in what format or a way to be in touch
1) Build a bunch of terror stars 2)Stop your alliance with other races and give them some tech to have them fight the I-league 3) Get friend with the I-league while providing ships to their enemies ...
Thx Biggy Boy, this sure help ! I start to understand the game mechanics ! even if I am not sure I want to ... it could lead me to make some advanced calculations of what i need when and where and how to extract the vey best of my civ, but I have much more fun not calculating anything, just producing what I need, earning money and keeping the morale at 70%. Yet I manage to rule the universe (ok only one galaxy in fact)...
I really do not see the point of knowing the exact game mechanics... mmm, is it better to conquer one star system with one planet quality 20 or a star system with two planets quality 15... ((1+NbSh)*(PQ/SQRT(Nbcol+GPmul)/(Tot+arg(SQRlilo)+(Shootthealien)*Nbpl+Nbciv/alColsh)) = BOTH !! lucky I had my ultra-computer...
And face it, the metaverse scoring is not that important...
You are all wrong : U Should Surrender :p
Are you sure that the trade route was not closed due to war ? (you get a warning message in this case) I already had several routes (ahem 2 in fact) going to the same star system without problem ... but as the amount of trade depends on the planet quality, its population, and probably other variables linked to wealth, maybe the planet you are trading with does not need the stuff coming ..
Would you like some 2D high resolution pictures coming from my 3DS max modeling of X-wings, TIEs, Destroyers, Mon Calamari ships, transports ... ? Maybe slightly too much for sprites ... LOL
There are really some strange behaviours of the tax system, keeping the same "government expenditure" and "government income" levels, you will notice that you lose less (earn more) money when you increase the "military expenditure" increasing "research" always lead to worsen the situation... Also sometimes, when you click just once on one on the sliders, the percentages do not move at all but your income changes ... In fact most of the time, from mid-game and later, I make seve
My computer is even older (but running under win2K) and version 1.00 works well... What is your resolution ? (I think game has to run in 1024*768) try to change the "hardware acceleration", it is known to create problems under 98... I have no other idea yet ...
The project ownership is transferred to the "new owner" !?? I had already noticed the "build queue" problem but I imagined that both civs would get the bonus provided... Are sure of this ? Is this planned to be corrected ?
The one about Britney spears is just delicious ...
With 158 ages given so far (counting mine and without Grock) the average is 32,5379747 .... As I have been enlightened yesterday my 27 does not mean anything any more :p
I know that you have at least to be "close" on relationship and alliance will appear in the field "attack, make peace,.." when you trade ; so far I have no exact info about the other questions... check the tech tree for reaching "alliance" tech
I reached a tech victory without having all techs so the problem is elsewhere ... ;)
Yep, but I had once a crash doing that so I prefer leaving orbit as it costs nothing...
A terror-star moving blackhole ... interesting idea LOL
There's already one post about this but anyway ... for a colony ship created on earth, first launch it as you would to colonize a planet of another system (leave orbit) and then have it re-enter the sol system (right click on sol) you should have no warning message, just the list of sol's planets on the right of your screen, and then select SOL V (u should see your cursor turning into a ship when you fly-over the planets with it) by left clicking on it...
I just achieved a tech victory being the largest empire so it is possible... I avoided all big influence improvements, avoided the "influence" resource, didn't upgrade any influence improvement on my SBs, avoided all alliances, kept out from war with a bunch of overlords (before getting them I managed to be powerful enough to avoid any threat, I was trading half with the drengins (who were the 2nd powerful) half with the arceans but I was a "good" civ so I had warm relations with the al
To all, I didn't check very closely this but when I set my military production to nothing, my production bar seems to increase and in my last game I kept the military production to nothing for quite a while on several planets and then when decided to choose something the number of turns was pretty low, "next month" for a constructor is the only example I remind... Did so experience the same ? Or was it only due to my settings of production and the quality of my planet ? <b
I read a quote about multi-thread in the readme file ... check it if not done yet ...
Morale affects the defence of a planet if you choose one of the option called something like "information warfare" then depending on the amount of % of unhappy people, you will be able to make part of them help you attack instead of defending ... And it works much more than in Irak ! :D
I definitely love these events ! Once upon a time when the Arceans were a lonely 4 system race with no chance to withstand the drengins ... until they get the +15 PQ for all non-colonized planets 2 sectors around their cobra system ! I managed to "steal" one of those with 21,22,26 and 28 P and they got the others ... no need to tell you that our alliance is going very well (even if i give money from time to time to the drengins to keep those arceans occupied while my tech is bo
The one that said when you click on it (+5% morale bonus) ! LOL No really you can handle morale pretty well with the adjustment of the taxes - keep approx. 60% of morale on the tax screen, this is a mean of all your planets, some will have a bad one others a good one but you can globally keep the control. I must admit that I didn't play enough on gigantic map to check if serious morale problems would arise
