My further thoughts having played 0.82 for a bunch more hours (sorry, I posted this in the wrong forum before) - AI is passive and I am "close" to every single civ, including the warlike Drengin - AI is constantly broke - why? What does it spend its money on? Not ships. I'm no.1 there easily. Yet I am flush with cash. - I steal planet after planet from the AI (influence/culture flip) yet it doesn't seem to bother it in it slighest - w
Also, It seems the ai doesn't take into account you are culture flipping their planets. I stole 2 from the Thalan and we are all best buds!
I've noticed this too. I steal planet after planet from the AI yet we remain "close" and it never attacks me...

Hi Brad, it's this: Quite often after I save a game and then want to load it again later, the saved file is prefixed with a tilde and when I try to load it I get the message "This save is not compatible with this version of the game". At the moment, I have to turn on Autosave for every turn because my named saved games are so unreliable. Hope you can look into it :) Thanks!

Dear Stardock, thanks for this latest Beta patch. Here are my observations from playing for about 3 hours: - Save/load bug still exists (this must be fixed!) - Text-clipping still exists - Don't see the 50 new initial responses to my diplomacy - same "glad to see the Terrans walking upright" still there always - Tourism income too high - makes trading virtually worthless - Too easy to keep population 100% happy - just buil

1) Idle colony message - when clicked you are immediately whisked to the govern screen and you are not sure (unless there's one in the building queue) whether you have a shipyard on that planet or not - it's not indicated anywhere on the govern screen. Can you add a small icon to the govern/colony management screen that shows whether this colony has a shipyard or not? A small "s" icon will do. Otherwise you have to exit the idle colony/govern screen, then find the colo

Quite often after I save a game and then want to load it again later, the saved file is prefixed with a tilde and when I try to load it I get the message "This save is not compatible with this version of the game". Needless to say this is frustrating and annoying. Thought I would report it :)

Thanks - I've managed to work around the colony building issue - for now. I also figured out how to get around the orphaned shipyard problem. There's a shut down shipyard option on the manage screen of a shipyard, so you can turn them off for a while :) Btw I've noticed that the invading force always wins the planet - obviously this is not WAD.

Issues : - You can't have an orphaned shipyard - the game won't let you proceed - you are forced to find a sponsor. You should be able to have a shipyard that's inactive and/or orphaned. - United Planets Council ALWAYS adopts my proposals - is this WAD? (Working As Designed) - AI always categorically rejects my Alliance and even Non-Aggression treaties no matter how much I bribe them or how much they lik

Thanks, Franco. Re. the uncolonized planets list, it would just be the planets you'd discovered. I'm sure there was such a list in GC2 and it was quite manageable. You could also do stuff like rank the planets by class. More comments and a couple of questions: Observations : - Can confirm, having seen several more invasions, that it is totally bugged - the attacker and defender are mixed up

Further : Issues : - Invasion appears to be buggy. Drengins invaded my planet, I asked to auto resolve, then got a message saying *I* was the invader! I won the invasion (note that "auto resolve" doesn't work, nothing happens when you click on it), but the Drengins took my planet! Same thing just happened with the Altarian Resistance. - Had declaration of war messages twice, a

Many thanks, Publius and Franco for your detailed responses. I am getting more into the game now and learning how it works. In the past I played a bit of GalCiv2, so I am only partly a noob :) Got some more questions, comments and issues to report: - Govern Civ > Colonies tab, some of the figures in the columns don't match up with the icons in the column headers, so for example, for wealth, the figures given are for total manufacturing, and for research, the figures giv

Hi guys, Just purchased GalCiv3 today and have played my first approx. 3 hours. Got some questions I hope someone can help with. And some comments for the developer. Sorry if these are dumb... :) Comments : - HOME key should take you to your homeworld - You shouldn't be able to know the relative power of the other races until you've actually encountered them! - Sometimes the text in the Research sc
