I wondered why they didn't want to make the rankings official too. Probably because they implemented the ranks in stages. I pulled the requirements for the lower ranks from a post from a Stardock employee in the Galactic Council. [Message Edited]
I colonize 14's because Ray said there is no penalty but apparently with 13 & 12 there is a 5 bc per turn penalty IIRC.
Just click the planet details to see for yourself. There is a line which states the planet maintenance. PQ14s don't incur any. ~SDC~

Jexal, First of all you should go to the Fellowship empire page and quit the empire. Next click the Create Empire tab at the left of your screen. The next screen would prompt you for a couple of things:- 1) Empire name 2) Empire website url 3) Empire motto 4) Empire status (Open, Invite Only, Closed) 5) Empire logo (32x32 pixels jpg) Once this is done, just confirm it. That should set it up. Let me know if you have questions on any of the fi

vincible, I've just tried to erase the serial number for one of my games and I was able to load it. Here's how: I downloaded a freeware hex-editor XV132. Opened the game.galaxy file using the editor and searched for the text string "DN". Once the serial number is found, I "x"ed out all the characters except for "DN" and "GC1" (for Galciv) or "SDS" (for Drengin). Give it a try. If it doesn't work, send the unedited savegame over to me. ~SDC~
Yes in my last game the Dregs used them extensively against the Torians. I occupied the space between them so the salvos were quite obvious . . . the Torian surrendered soon thier after.
Cool. That's something I've yet to see. The AIs in my games just seem to mass-produce the latest warship.

I thought rather than just bumping this thread. I've post some of the stories that he wrote previously in the Fellowship thread.
Elven Song Downie glided delicately across the tavern floor, trying not to inhale. “What do you want, pixie-face?” said the barkeep. Elves, it seemed, were not welcome here. “Is there any chance of a fresh pot of jasmine tea?” he said. “I beg your pardon?” “I understand you se

I enjoyed your AAR, Sirian. I played a similar game months ago when a rampant Arcean (IIRC) empire mowed everyone down. I retreated all my forces to a sector which was anchored by my Terror Star with military buffs and made a last stand. I won via tech with just 3-4 ships remaining, even rebuffing an Excalibur attack with weaker ships (at that time, I didn't realise that I was assisted by the fleet defense bug). However, it was evident to me then that the AI would need years to

Smeagol, Some time ago, an Emperor spent long hours playing Galciv, trying his best to contribute to an empire that he had painstakingly built. Then two members of his empire decided to defect. In a fit of emotion, he disbanded his empire. Sounds familiar? Yup, that Emperor was me. I have been there, brother and I can empathise with some of your feelings. What drew me back was the friendship on this forum. I figured out that I had allowed myself to be too emotionally i
