For me, it took close to 2 months, IIRC. ~SDC~
Ray the Wanderer
Well done and congratulations on being the 3rd person to achieve Fleet Admiral, Rick! :CONGRAT: :CONGRAT: :CONGRAT: With Amidala MIA, the FOTR holds the monopoly for FAs at the moment. :) ~SDC~
Yes, she changed her player name to MIA, giving her a score of zero. ~SDC~
Send the GOTM to me, vincible. Let's see if I can load it. ~SDC~
Maso AIs do have a diplo bonus of about +30-40% IIRC. I agree with you that I rather see them getting a higher diplo bonus but willing to buy techs with cash. Minors should get the same boost as well. Currently, it's weird that only the starting minors get this nerf but event minors don't. ~SDC~
Keep on trying, Smeagol. :) I find that stronger minors with more systems make for weaker majors. Try taking the minors systems from them before taking on the majors. On rarer habitability maps, it really makes a difference. In addition, seems like the the tech-sell nerf have been relaxed for the Alexians in 1.11. I have been able to sell the Alexians tech for big bucks in my current game. However, from this single experience, it seems that they only buy in cash if they have >1

I wonder what kind of improvements are going to be made. I believe Frogboy said something previously about improving AIs defence of their planets. That would probably reduce the AIs' vulnerability to alpha strikes. ~SDC~
Check out the latest news on 1.12 by Frogboy on the front page.
Amongst the planned new features will be significantly beefed up AI to play more intelligently at the harder levels.
Can't wait. :) ~SDC~
The scores are divided into monthly blocks backwards from the latest game played. The metaverse score places your total score in the numerator and the square root of the total games played in the denominator for each monthly block. Each block beyond the current month has a decay factor built in at 5% per month for metaverse score and 10% per month for personal profile (click on name) score. The blocks are then added to derive the listed scores. If I got that correct, kudos to Ray who has
However, the I-League tends to resurrect itself out of nowhere from time to time
I believe this bug is fixed.
+ made it so that I League can't turn undead (don't ask)
~SDC~
Metaverse listing scores have a decay rate of 5%/mth whilst personal profile scores decay at 10%/mth. Yes, empire scores are a summation of personal profile scores.
My opinion is that the alignment bonus and the victory condition scoring are buggy. I'm with Maxtipherous in not believing that the summary screens have anything to do with scoring in its current iteration.
the big primary issue of the AI's absolute helplessness against a cultural assault.
As I've noted in my still incomplete Galciv blog, the three areas where humans routinely give the AIs the runaround are diplomacy, starbases and tactical combat. These three areas need some more work to give the AI more of a chance against experienced players. I'm hoping we will see some solid AI improvements in the Nov patch.
Welcome to the Fellowship, Craig Wilson! Good to have you join the team. :)
Finished up my Maso Huge. That was a nice warm-up. I'm all ready for the Maso GOTM, vincible. :D ~SDC~
Just tried the old trick of buying military ships off an AI's planet before invading it and guess what... the AI said it ain't trading ships with me when I have transports near them! Never seen that before! It's a good one. :) ~SDC~
I've missed the 1st three but for 4-7, out of 10, I will score them: 1. Sgt - (9/10) 2. Delta Force - (7/10) 3. Dragon - (3/10) 4. Gold Star - (2/10) Delta Force lost points because not everyone is familiar with this US special force and it's from one country. Sgt stripes is an internationally recognisable military rank and it could represent a coalition of special forces from around the world (Aussie, US & Israeli at the moment).
I personally do not like the universalist party as the bonuses are small (which does not help much in the critical early game where base numbers are small - the game rounds down). Luck is also an undeveloped trait which is currently not very useful. I strongly recommend Populists. The diplomacy and morale bonuses are very useful. You are right that a lower population has a detrimental effect on your influence and thus the AIs influence can overshadow even your occupied sectors.
I would like to lurk. :)
What's snooks? :) Thanks for the bumps, guys. I've be keeping this thread up for a couple of days so Matthew can have a chance to see this.
What's the message you get when your freighter reaches the AI planet?
Smeagol, Interesting story. Hopefully, this will stimulate another round of story writing here on the Fellowship thread. :)
Rick, Wiley has expounded on the benefits of pop growth previously but I personally like it for the increase in money, influence, production and research in the early stage when I'm the most vulnerable. It also gives me troops quicker if I need to blitz any of my neighbours. My current picks are Populists, +60dip, +70pop.
Appreciate if you could send me an email if you see this post, Matthew.
