:) Some ideas: - -One suggestion /idea for GalCiv is that if you conquer a planet where there was a morale "dilema attached to it" you will given anew the choice... - Higher intelligence could be: You see the specials of each planet. - Ability to influence directly events in other empires => for example: Ranger is found by another empire / you get the choice to spend money for stealing it etc.... - Abilty to see what other empires are building.... - Give

:) What version number are you playing? In 1.03A I agree that only the Arceans, seems to use small fleets. I have seen the Arceans many times using stacks of transports with a defending ship. The problem the A.I. seems to have is to calculate the time its transports need to arrive leading to => in large maps the war is virtually over at the time when the transports arrive. The dreadnoughts have cleared away defenders but when the transports arrive the defense is build up again etc.
:d Space sharks I miss you..... (:(
;) Stardock is only the developer. You should complain at "Strategy First" which is the publisher. On the other hand you have to admit that for such a small company the offer to download it directly and have a CD send to your place is as far as stardock can go to remedy the sitouation.
There is one small thing which bugs me :The elections, at the moment you know perfectly when the next elections will happen. To win them you have to lower your taxes simply one month before the elections and congratulations you won..... Suggestion: Take the average value of the tax rate of the last 24 months to calculate the morale of your people during elections.
"Instead, when you buy Drengin.net you will continue to get updates to the individual games on there after your subscription expires." You will get updates after subscription expires... What else can he say....... :CONGRAT:
@EBZeroMatrix for your music problem: look in the option screen there is tap called something like "user defined playlist" toggle it off if it is switched on. I had a similar problem.
:) wishlists are fine rebalance atleast some of the starships: Battlehammer and frigates => my suggestion simply exchange the maintance cost of the two Phoenix =>give them (please) a much higher attack value 2x or some thing else... Star Hawk? => "nobody" use them right now Ranger => awesome ship if you get it for free but "nobody" builds them . Dreadnoughts => perhaps double (triple) the research costs. At the moment they come within a very few
I think it would be helpful if you get yourself a small programm called smart exception through SDC. Run it while you are playing, if you have a CTD it will create a cra.log which will give the programmers a clue what is the problem.
"[35_WantsPeace_A] So... the thing is, another boy made me do it. I was just kidding around you know? Besides, I'm just a test civilization. I won't even be in the final game. So let me live. This beta is all the glory I get!" (:( I didn´t know what I was doing to the poor AI´s... :p
small tweaks to the military AI: => Better coordinated follow up invasions on planets => less "suicide" attacks of AI controlled starships An option for my starships like "auto survey" but to "hunt and destroy" enemy freighters and constructors. an option to influence the occurence/and difficulty of random events. By the way. The game balance (IMHO) is much improved with the last build of game!!!! :)
On the setup screen more options: 1. nasty AI functions enabled 2. number of random events hight, low , no exists etc 3. difficulty of random events: Easy, hard, game throwing 4. Morale adjustement: Hard, Low , You can do whatever you want with me. 5.Slow tech research and blind tech research 6. UP council meets : 1 time a year , every 2 years etc. At the moment there are ongoing to many discussions tweak this its to easy, tweak tha
@Technician I don´t have experienced yet these drastic changes you noticed in the game. You are more less complainign about three different things: 1.You have to drop tax levels to 40% to mantain a morale of round about 50%, 2.due to the lower income you have to drop your production level (You can´t run full steam economic 100% all the time now) ,3. minor races are quite fast in building trade goods you don´t get an adavance warning. 1. I "real life" an approval
:p I have some problems with the different governmentforms too... Version 1.0.2.49 (upgraded to the new one 1.03.53 but not played it yet) Game: I am at war and my trade income got trashed... Government: democratic =Expenses 1203bc Income: -349bc Changing to Star Federation =Expenses 1203 Income: -435bc Changing to imperalistic: = Expenses 1203 Income + 23 :notsure: Some kind of bug or are there other game mecanics involved which update
"I still can't see the use of Military or Social bonuses. No matter what test I try, these two bonus types seem fruitless. Bug, Interface Issue, or Stupid Player Syndrome? Either way, I'll take input on the matter" Something I wondering myself. If they are working can somebdoy explain please how I can notice the influence of these picks.... For me they clearly don´t do what it is stated in the manual. Stupid player syndrome? ;)
In the manual is written that your espinage ability works for both for spying and destabization.. :)
;) Once SDC runs its really shines and I now I love it => small updates regulary only a few hundreds kbts big. My grip is up to now I really don´t know how it started working for me in the beginning. This what happened to me more or less. I installed galciv put in my serial, went to stardock homepage, looked around selected galciv got some advertisment finally landed in drengin network and still didn´t find any way to update galciv. Found at last here on this page the
IMHO, starbases make the game to easy. Its simple to have a "super producing" sector in your empire which bulids galactic wonders in 2-3 turns, throw out constructors every turn etc.. O.K. on the one hand you could say don´t use these tacticts if they are to easy( cheesy). On the other hand the "abuse" of starbases is the most effective tactic at the moment, it is not a bug, for me its simple an game unbalacing feature which should be adressed. The AI in this game is good enough that the p
@ButtFutted Somebody else made a nice printable techtree no more than 3 pages long. You should hunt around in older threads or start a new thread called "techtree now!!) and see you comes calling... ;)
The strongest race: THE YOR!!!! With all the other races I can wreck their economic development quite easily => giving them techs + trade goods they can´t resist for a lot of money (or spending more money they have )+ when they are strong desstabilize them and they get never out of deficit spending and I remain tech + econmic leader. The Yor somehow always escape my evil plots :) (playing with all AI set to intelligent
@DaetrinnSorry, I didn´t try to insult you or somebody else. I tried to explain my point of view. I play GalCiv as I would play it against other human players. A human would would tell you: Go away or its war between us.... There are many other loopholes out there. I believe sometimes it is up to the player to decide if he uses tricks to have fun or not. On the other hand I would like to see other things patched with 1st priority because the AI should act more "intel
I all the games the so far I played the AI seems to pick war party for its government (Spending money in intelligence showed me their stats-) A known bug or it is simply best politcal party?
O.K. there are always loopholes in all computer games and you can try to fix them as a developer or say if the players want to abuse them fine... On the bright side. Seeing that the players are forced to use these cheese tactics to win shoes me that the computer is already quite compent in running his empire.IMHO (the only way I can think of to prevent this paricular cheese is: Three ships near one of the computers ships will be regarded as an agressive act and lead to a drop
I don´t think it is a wide spread problem because it only happened to me once and it isn´t really repeatable, saving and reloading brought the things back to "normal" and it seems nobdody else reported something similar. (Perhaps the colony ships / constuctor endless building bug reported by some people) Actually I am always behind in the pop growth. Seeing my pop stat taking of like a rocket virtually (/ 90° take off)) to hundreds of billions is quite nice in the beginning... I w
