I finished reading the book today. Some parts could have been worded better, but overall I enjoyed the story. I liked it enough that if he writes a sequel I'll be getting it.
Add the economy to that list. I still like the idea for the sophisticated model in this thread. http://forums.impulsedriven.com/352821
This has randomly happened to me. I created a new game and had 5 second pause between turns right off the bat, there was also a very long pause between clicking stuff on the map and the pop up i.e like combat, grabbing goodie huts. I quit, started a new game and had no pauses, around 50 turns into it and good so far. My 600 turn game has around 7 second pause between turns, don't think I can continue with that kind of delay. Auto-save made no difference for me either.
Turns out one of my men was stuck. End turns are now working. I forgot to add this man was on auto explore, guess pathfinding might need some work.
I'm on turn 428 and clicking the end turn button does nothing now. Everything else (FPS, selecting other buttons) seems normal. Here is the savegame and debug. http://drop.io/ql6r4ud http://pastebin.ca/1932032
My FPS improved (getting up to 15 FPS now when I normally get 8 to 10 FPS) and the game is much smoother for me. No idea why this was checked though. I only use english. Thanks for pointing this out.
Quoting Clawdius_Talonious, reply 3 What I want is a review of the campaign that comes with the book. Sure....You can't get it yet. not available. is Caput. Denied, etc. Stardock needs to put something at the site telling people the campaign is coming soon or something. I followed the instructions in the book and poke around but it was only when I came here that I found out the camp
I just hope the fix is released before this weekend (4 day weekend for me [e digicons]:D[/e] ) I'm trying to play on the cloth map, but it studders even though I get around 40 to 50 FPS. This is the only game I have this bad of performance, I fired up BFBC 2 just to see if my computer is messing up, no issues, got solid 60 FPS during heavy action with 2xAA on.
My sons computer used to shut off. The cpu heatsink fan had failed. The cpu would shut down the computer before it overheated. Something to check.
It's also not just late game. My FPS go into the toilet as soon as I build a town with just the main building. Whats odd is I loaded the game on my 6 year old laptop and get just about the same FPS as my new computer when viewing a town.
I'm getting a few FPS more (getting 10 instead of 8) with this update from Microsoft. Only applies for Windows 7. Every little bit helps. Article about it. http://news.softpedia.com/news/Pre-SP1-Performance-Boost-for-Windows-7-DirectX-11-Graphics-Platform-153912.shtml Win 7 32 bit <a href="http://www.micros
The fallen Town, for instance, clocks in at 97 objects, many of these being dupes that get batched together. Unfortunately, we don’t start fading out objects until the ‘Mid’ zoom level...right before the cloth map is enabled (at its default value), so even zoomed out pretty far we’re still displaying all 97 objects when we could probably get away with 40-50. So while there’s no ‘silver bullet’, improvements
I enjoy the game, even though I am suffering performance issues with the 3d map. That said, I would buy the game again even with the issues.
1.06 didn't help performance for me, but it's good that other bugs are being fixed. The GPU is being used, just only 1% of it is being used on the main 3D map. I get up to 50 % of the GPU being used during tactical battles with FPS of 45 to 50. It also appears that Elemental does not support crossfire as my 2nd GPU load was 0 % and the clock speeds were in power saving mode.
My computer is 2 years old, and running at the highest settings, I get no performance issues at all. I'm wondering if folks with performance issues are turning down their graphic settings and seeing if those issues go away?
I can set the game on the highest video settings including 8xAA and its lowest settings I still get 8 FPS when viewing any town. It's like the game is stu
Thanks for the update. Hopefully the next update fixes the performance issue I'm having. Overall I really like the game.
Here is a log of GPU-Z showing 0 to 1 % load on my GPU when running the game. http://pastebin.ca/1925943 and my debug http://pastebin.ca/1925946 Tactical battles run fine for me, I have around 45 FPS during the battle. After the battle FPS go back to the normal 8 FPS which is what I had before the battle. FPS are only bad for me when I view a city. Looking at the GPU-Z log I would
Here is my savegame, just starting out and the FPS go down to single digits as soon as I build a town and explore the surrounding area. I get the same FPS when loading the savegame. http://www.megaupload.com/?d=XW71BS0G
Moving the taskbar to the bottom solves the mouse bring stuck issue. I just really dislike having my taskbar on bottom. [e digicons]:)[/e] This also solves the hardware mouse option being 1/2" off.
Yep I sure do.
I have the same problem when trying to select troops. My mouse is Logitech G500 with latest drivers. Selecting the hardware mouse option solves that issue, but when I start a new game the mouse cursor is off. I have to move the cursor about 1/2" below the button/area I want to select. I also have a issue that might be related. Every time I start the game the mouse cursor is stuck at the top of the menu screen, I can scroll it back and forth, but it will not move u
Here is my debug file. http://pastebin.ca/1925413 The new CAT 10.8 drivers do not help with the FPS on my computer.
My post from the low performance thread. During lunch I installed the new ATI drivers CAT 10.8, there was no change in performance. I'll mess with it some more after work. I have the same issue. I've tried all the video settings they seem to make no change at all in the FPS. Zoomed in my small city averages 15 FPS, zoomed out right before it turns into the cloth map I average 5 to 8 FPS, this is with only two small cities in view, no units on the map. This is with crossf
