Hi, yes, I do have twilight. Any help in letting me know names of the editors and or location would be appreciated. Simplifies things a bit. Also, do you remember the name of the tech editor? maybe I could do a google search. Thanks. Keith
All: Is there a tool to easily modify tech trees and unit costs without having to do a lot of xml programming? I have used tools before made by Civ and Galciv players, so hoping there is one I could use to make simple tweaks to GalCivII. Any info would be appreciated. Keith
The game should measure results, not effort. Effort only gets rewarded in Socialist Countries like France :} (just having fun) If a person efficiently plays the game, he will win in less time than somewhat who is less competent. That is why victory points should be weighted with time in mind (Quicker kill extra points, slow kill = a negative point bonus). This fits the model in all Capitalist countries. I don't want to get into a philosophical debate, so will not co
Ok, just played another game, with 4 incredible and 3 genius opponents. Finished in 2182. Getting bored with Gal Civ I, too easy. Still a long wait for Gal Civ II.
So, you're saying incompetence is rewarded, then? Giving double victory points for a late victory is insane. Instead, victory points should be halved for every 5 years past a certain point.
I always play small map at crippling level with all 9 majors/monors. I typically have wiped everyone out militarily by 2185, and have 50-70% pop bonuses by then. Morale is absolutely not an issue, because that is so easy to overcome. I max out on pop growth very early on, which is why I asked the question. So, if anyone knows how to adjust the max cap growth, please let me know. Thanks. Keith
Is there a way to increase the likelihood of events for all civilizations? If so, how?
Currently, the maximum population increase per turn ins 200m people, no matter the size of the population, or population bonuses. Is there a way to increase this by modding a file somewhere? This limit is reached very quickly, with or without pop. bonuses, and I would like the ability to adjust it.
All: Is it possible to change alignment requirement for Paladin Ships? If so, how do I go about doing this? I like to play Small maps at Crippling difficulty, and often win before any events come up that allow me to change my alignment to good so that I can build Paladins. I would like to set alignment requirement to 50 so I can build this neat ship. Thanks.
Icho, Technician: Thanks for the info. That clears things up for me. Keith
I recently purchased the AP expansion online. Is there a list anywhere of the new techs, along with their costs and pre-requisites available? Also, have any of the pre-requisites changed from the regular GalCiv game. I am aware of the Javascout site that has the Galciv techs, but did not see anything AP specific there. I have run across a few of the techs while playing AP, but would be interested in a comprehensive list so I can make adjustments to my research strategies.<br
How about the ability to pick a unique unit at the beginning of the game, much like Civ III? One of the things I liked about Civ III was the ability to play different Civilizations, along with their unique units. I also like Birth of the Federation, since I could play as the Romulans, Ferengi, etc. Perhaps, while picking unique traits at the beginning, we could also pick an 'uber' unit, building, or Wonder that would be available only to the humans.
