Right, I have had the game for about a week now and I just noticed that 1.03 was released a few days ago. I'm currently playing on 1.02, but with all the complaints I'm hearing on 1.03 I'm not sure I want to actually install 1.03.So, should I keep my 1.02 and wait for the next patch instead or are there some critical stuff in 1.03 that makes it worth all the hassel?(Note: I have not yet played any multiplayer, and it is not that important for me yet. Also, I love them Aliens so all the pr

Wow, reading endless diatribes has exhausted me! I was going to suggest to the OP that we play a few games, but I can't bring myself to. Having played MP online for what seems like ages, I can say that the learning curve is usually painful, and there are always children around. Stick it out and things get better. In the meantime, anyone else want a game?
Very nice. Thank you.
Aldar, same problem here, no solution so far.
Same problem, no solution yet.
Ditto, CTD every time I click the discussion tab. Frustrating would be an understatement.
Nope, still doing it.
Wondering if anyone has some ideas... Whenever I use SDC to try and access the discussion boards I get a CTD. No problem if use the "software," "news," or other tabs. Any thoughts?
Sounds to me like you have changed from the neutral interface to the "Good" interface. Well done. You may suspect that there is something similar that happens when you are tending to be "Evil" but I won't spoil the surprise :)
OK, finished the game with a close eye on the trade screen. I think I can visualize what is being suggested but then I wonder... does the mini-freighter ever have a return path which touches on different sectors than the outgoing path? If not, does any of this matter since the starbase effect is sector wide? (Sorry Drizzt... I don't mean to hijack your thread, I'm just curious :) )
Hmmm. A lot to think about here. I must confess that I just assumed a straight line back and return, but in hindsight that does seem too simple, and I never even considered obstacles (why would a planet get in the way :) ). Off to play a game and see what I can see. I'll be back. [Message Edited]
Freighters travel in a parallelogram pattern. If you are in the north(up), it travels counter-clockwise. If you are in the south, it travels clockwise.
WOW, I didn't realize this. How then do you find the route the freighters are taking? When I look in the trade window I only see one line for the freighter, is this the route out, or the route in?
Had a zoo escape last night with three monsters. Used one of my ships to lure them into AI territory and watched havoc ensue. LOL
Whew! I was wondering the same thing. I'm back after a two month absence (don't ask, it's a tragic tale) and the scores are a magnitude higher. First game I've owned where I get better when not playing. ;)
Dunno, maybe. The example game I was describing though was set at Normal, so I wouldn't have expected that much change. ~SDC~
Agreed, I've noticed the same thing. Loaded a "gigantic" game that I started prior to the patch and morale is sky high. I have the income set to about 90% and could probably go to 100% but that just feels silly. This is with a "democracy" government. Something must have changed? ~SDC~
Dang, I wish this forum let you edit... Anyways, you need to optimize your income and expense sliders, which esp. in the early game for me means max expense and highest income from the income slider you can get (have to play with that one). Then with the three allocation sliders, change them to reflect your immediate goals (lots of forum topics on that) which may be max military for those quick colony ships, or maybe punching out some research early, etc etc. Like I said, it's all in
Sliders, captain, it's all in the sliders. ~SDC~
I thought those "blue squiggles" were a goto button? That's how I've been using them anyways. ~SDC~
16 ships per orbit I believe (or two full rows) ~SDC~

Sir! Yes, Sir! One lump or two, Sir!
Hmmm Astromarine, just checked the metaverse and I outrank you. You wouldn't be getting "saucy" with your superiors would you? See you in the kitchen. :)
In the presence of 3 Captains and a Commander, you should, Ensign! ***walks from the room, mumbling... I'll be back, oh I'll be back*** :)
Means I have to submit some more games and spend less time reading the forum. I'm feeling inadequate. :)
