You may just want to stick with the social buildings that raise morale. Lowering taxes could be devestating since raising them back up will make morale lower than it previously was.

I wish there was a damned delete post button ;) Minor spoilers of the cultural defeat screen. We have suffered a cultural defeat. As our youth began to wear clothing styles of the Altarian Republic parents and politicians made a great deal of noise. Over the years, the entertainment we watched, the sports we played, the food we ate and things we drank all seemed to come from the Altarian Republic. It was a slow subtle thing. I believe I know the difference between my colonies defecting and them winning through a culture victory. The overview even stated that my people were into Altarian TV and wearing their clothes. That it was hard to tell their civ from my own. It was indeed a true cultural victory. You have insulted me. >:(

I remember seeing a topic awhile back about how AIs could only win through Military Victory alone. Just wanted to clear it up (if it hadn't been already) that AIs can win trhough other means. I just lost to the Altarians by way of a cultural victory. (:(

Nice AAR. I also enjoyed the tech ending. I just played a game going for the tech ending, brought in some terror stars to take out the Dregin and Altarian planets that had too much population for me to even consider invading. So just forced both of them into a corner, and strolled down the tech tree.

Actually this is one of the easiest unbalanced events to win against. You just have to head the warning and do what the posters above said. The second time it happened to me, I made sure there was a terror star waiting by the side of the planet.... ;)
