Yup .... That's apparently the problem... Gotta turn the Direct Draw off under dxdiag. :) Now, is it possible to patch this so that we don't have to adjust our computers when we play the game or not? I honestly don't know, but would appreciate a response... shrugs

Bingo, Sole! I found the file you mentioned, changed the setting to 1024x768 just to get into the game, then set it up for 1920 for my new monitor. You guessed it, I got a new monitor at the same time the patches came out and the games were still set to 1368 res (for my old monitor) and that wouldn't run on my new monitor! Thanks for your help, guys! I truly appreciate it!
Yeah, Hi Whis... Thanks for your help! All I have gotten (both from the reinstall from CD disk and re-download from Impulse) is a dark screen that pops up in the upper left corner of my monitor (about 1/3 the screen) when I try to start the game. Just to be clear, I CAN reinstall the game, both ways ... It just doesn't run when I execute it. Just the kooky, black screen in the upper left corner. The rest of my Impulse games work... Hinterland, Sin of the Solar, etc... And I have uninsta
I've been following this post, hoping someone would add to it, but no one has in the last week. The updating of the the Dark Whatever Game seems to have corrupted all of my Gal Civ games as well. I can't even reinstall the first two games off my "store purchased" CD. Have also tried reinstalling through Impulse w/ no luck... Any suggestions? :)
Yeah, I'd much rather have a patch .... :)
Has anyone resolved these problems with crashing in XP? I can't even run the game ... and I just purchased it... :(
What is so confusing? When I downloaded Space Rangers 2 Complete w/ Reboot from Impulse, it downloaded an icon for both Space Rangers 2 and an icon for Reboot. And the Reboot icon behaves in the way I described. Again, being new to Space Rangers 2, I didn't know if "Complete" meant that there was an addon (besides Reboot) included in Space Rangers 2 Complete, so I assumed Reboot was seperate, considering the two icons. But,I guess Reboot is included in "Complete", thus making it "Compl
Is that the case? My appologies if it is. :) However, there IS a Reboot icon on the "MyGames" area of my Impulse. That would usually imply that you need to click on that icon to run that version of the game. It's that way with Galactic Civs expansions in Impulse (and, outside of Impulse, it is with a number of other games I have that have expansions). My complaint still stands as far as the "Must have Space Rangers 2 installed" warning when I hit unstall on Reboot. It certainly is no
All right ... Very frustrating and not a good way to introduce a loyal Stardock customers to your new download system.... I purchased the Space Rangers 2 and Reboot package here on Impulse. As they were downloading I could tell Reboot was going to finish first and that worried me a little. But figuring all of the techincal angles would be hashed out or they wouldn't sell it that way on Impulse, I figured it would be OK. Well, I went to fire up Reboot and got the "You need t
