I've played many games like this, probably all of them, and a few with tactical battles. I've played games with excellent tactical battles, this being Space Empires 4, and others with very poor battles like in Pax Imperia 2. I dont think at all that they should use Real Time battles, if they plan on doing this. Its either going to be overly complex, like Homeworld, or its going to be JUST like the battles now. Right click an enemy, watch ships fight, etc. That is how it was in Pa

Tacitcal battles would be ok so long as they are not real time. If they are they might as well keep it the way it is now. Real time tactical battles on these games involves right clicking on a unit, waiting, right clicking on the next unit, waiting, right clicking, etc etc etc. I was some MOO2 style battles, ships with all kinds of cool special abilities, etc. Real time will be just like it is now except you get to choose where all the ships first fire. None of this will ma

I always finish a game if i get that far because i do metaverse. Usually I can just press end turn like 20 times and win a cultural victory. Often I have it set up so i can do that in the end.

Girls do play computer games, I have met a few, but they tend not to like strategy games or indeed any other game that lasts a long time. The only girls i know who play games play Counter-Strike or MMORPGs. MMORPGS last longer than any type of game and they love it. They have the largest female population of any game genre.

Perhaps cosmetic mods should be the only ones allowed? I really like the example UI provided in 1.2 but obviously can't use it to play metaverse games which is normally what I play. I want to

It does cost u however to do this. Therefore u r penalised. I like the good/neutral/evil choice, it adds another dimension to the game. Ya, a cost that means literally nothing. That "dimension" in the game was in Galciv 1 and it wasn't like this way, you must not understand me. <TABLE cellpadding=8 width="95%" align=center

Remember when Brad posted about having the AI play a "no-humans" game and having each AI win approximately the same number of games? That is, in face, impossible. The terrans NEVER do anything at all, if i leave them alone or whatever happens in the game. So no, he has to be wrong or that was during some kind of early beta when all the AIs suc

Recently i've been giving them birds names, raven, hawk, etc. Some other names too like Raptor. Before I used names like Raider, Devastator, Avenger, etc. I wont be doing anything like naming ships so I "never have to design another", I have all my appearances down so i just, before i beat the game, clear all the tech things from the ships i design so i keep the appearance. I then, every so often, just upgrade everything and keep how it looks. When I get the new hull i have a blank hu

Actually custom race is the worst possible race to play as. ALL the other civs, if you clear their bonuses, get inherant rascial bonuses along with 10 points. So the custom race is actually the WORST race. Funny, though, you can change anything about the game races, the picture, the names, the appearance. So playing the custom race is completely pointless thing that only a newb should consider. <TABLE cellpadding=8 width="95%" align=center bgColor=#FFF394 class="mb-Body-Quo

I enjoyed in the first galciv how you always got all kind of events throughout the game. Their was no "tech" that made you good or evil their was only events. I enjoyed that far more and it added flavor to the game. Now you can be as good or evil as you like and still be any alignment and after that their are no more events. Sure you can be a good race and take all the evil paths on events, doesn't matter when you get the tech you want you just choose good and your all set, no more e

Stars was a great game. I always thought it was fun playing as one of those races that live on starbases. Too bad supernova never came to be, but that was vaporware from that start even though I posted that on their forums i was flamed for what eventually became true.

Didn't post this in the right forum, sry for repost. I found, later in the game, that almost all of my designs for ships that i've been using had dissapeared. These were all designs that i had currently being built by planets. Also when the designs dissapeared the planets that were building them kept with the production, though i couldn't assigns any new planets to build these designs as they no longer exsited. I redesigned them and if i tried to use the same name the game

Its cute, actually, that this person thinks that this minor typo is so important, important enough to bump. At least it says what the building DOES, others even say something completely different as far as structure typos. Their are even worse ones in other areas of the game.
