The only graphical change in 1.2 that i've noticed has been that SOME of the ship's engine flares have been fixed. I'm still waiting for the first ship "wing" on the jewelery in ship design to be fixed. Besies that and how wierd the planet lights work, or if they work because they never do on Earth or homeworld, nothing else is wrong.

Defense is just fine the way it is. I personally dont like this "3 types of weapons" idea and think that is actually the problem. Defences would be worth it and useful for what they cost if they defended against EVERYTHING. Right now, in the 1.2 beta, its oh the AI is maxed on PD (they always max on one type), time to upgrade my attack fleets
I always laugh at the planet description when you conquer. The text their has been broken since beta.
i have 1.5 as well and its fine.
I found, later in the game, that almost all of my designs for ships that i've been using had dissapeared. These were all designs that i had currently being built by planets. Also when the designs dissapeared the planets that were building them kept with the production, though i couldn't assigns any new planets to build these designs as they no longer exsited. I redesigned them and if i tried to use the same name the game would immediately crash. Much later on, like say 20 turns, i fou
Their is no point of their "certification" it doesn't make it usable in the metaverse or anything so why care?
Well being that you like moo3 you should be used to this kind of thing. Make sure you have dx9.0c i see directx errors, and make sure you have new drivers as well. OH!!! You have a mx440. Count yourself out of playing any game made within the last 4 years. Horrible card, you need a new one as that is the root of your problem.
I find myself, in this new beta, having an extremely difficult time with ship defences. Only in the later game i find myself being able to not lose 50% of my ships attacking the enemy. They are too large and do too little. Also it makes smaller ships even more worthless as i find them always dying in 1-2 hits. Only in the late game when I have 6-10 point defences and huge ships do i find my ships actually being able to take hits, otherwise its a problem. Where i can put weapons that,
and the new combat system is brutal compared to before. That is for certain, my last game on tought i had a EXTREMELY difficult time fighting the AI. Sure i still won eventually but i found myself losing a lot of ships because the defences in this game BLOW.
90% of the game is typos, so this is just one small thing.
I, personally, enjoyed this feature in previous games. Me and a few friends would meet once or twice a week and get together for a few hours and play a game. Now all we do, if we dont go to a bar or something, is either Warhammer 40k or some board games, etc, on occasion. Even if it was tcp-ip or through internet or lan i would enjoy it. I know many people online who want to do a game in this and i know will be dedicated to finish it. I, for one, will be playing Space Emip
When i first started playing the game at normal difficulty my games usually brought me 60,000-80,000 points. Now i'm doing the exact same thing since the 1.0 patch and can't even break 20. What is the key to a higher metaverse score?
Most weapons, from what i see, dont have that much of a difference. Like a few i've seen as a size of 10 in a tiny ship then a size of 11 on a huge ship. It all depends on the weapon. It is wierd though, you would think if the weapon is larger that it would do more damage or something. Their is no sense to it if its larger but with no other difference.
Ok, the description of the Mind Control Center says it causes a planet to defect almost instantly when it revolts. However, I have yet to actually notice any change with or without it. The stat window for it says it grants a +100% economic bonus, which it also doesn't do... Yes its broken, their is no difference. The thing is too that it
The planet quality bonus is the most exploitable feature of the game. Basically every time you come into posession of a planet you get a 10% or 20% bonus. However their is no flag on it saying that this bonus is allready applied, so heres an easy way to exploit it that many people do. One person said, in a previous topic, he got mars up to 30 PQ doing this. What you do is you let an alien colonise a weak planet in your territory. Then it will switch over to you, it gains the PQ bonus.
No no no no no no no. No. Yes yes yes yes yes yes yes Yes. You know why? Because its allready like this in the game according to most of the UP "laws". Your denying something that allready exists in the game. I recall many a up proposal that charges other civs for having starbases or planets in your "territory".
The 20% one takes too many points better spent on influence, diplomacy, or something else. It costs EIGHT for something that doesn't really make much of a difference in the game compaired to what else you can get with 8. ohhh wow, one or two more tiles on a planet! Thats unless you exploit it: I found out a sneaky tactic to take advantage of this. Mars is usua
Native resolution for the game is 1024x768. The game will only run on increments of this unfortunately. Nope, it runs on 1400X900 for me easily. That is a widescreen resolution. What he needs to do is have the resolution available as a desktop resolution. If it is then he can play it on that in galciv. The thing is though
Take away all victory conditions except military and that leaves it up to you when the game ends. Yes, lol. No point playing after that.
The only thing mike is that then they will work like a player race. I want them to be the evil super powerful high tech race that appears late game to kill all to give a late game challenge. Though this is nice. I just wish i could use them as an opponeant in the metaverse. MOO2 is Masters of Orion 2 an old 4x strategy game (that's the same genre of s
On Tough difficulty, the AI get the Intelligent AI. The two things are one and the same. It is slightly confusing, but the AI settings and the general settings have different names for the same thing. I see what your saying, i set the ais difficulty individually so i was talkign about tough. I ment intelligent by THEIR difficulty, not the game
I hate having to "handicap" myself in how i play the game intentionally. It makes it even MORE boring, for many people. The game shouldn't require you to personally limit yourself to play it. I ALWAYS hated that excuse for any game, it was the #1 comment for Master of Orion 3 dont bring it here. If he thinks its easy just play at a higher difficulty. Problem solved. I just dont feel like fighting computer opponeants non stop and would rather play games that I can play with friends. I
What is the higest approval rating that affects population growth? 70% right? Thats what I saw on some table i downloaded.
Maybe he's in a location where newer monitors are hard to come by...but yet he got this game. If he has a computer that can RUN Galciv 2 hes in a location where he can get a monitor that can run that high.
I want to use, when someone makes them, a UI mod. However i dont know if i should since i do metaverse. Would using such a mod prevent me from submiting a game? The UI mods obviously dont change anything with the game besides eyecandy, so i dont see why they wouldn't be allowed. Also what other mods, if any, work in metaverse?
