Resources disappearing in Galactic Civilizations I Stardock Forums

This is the second time this is happening to me. When loading a saved game a resource is missing. All that is left is a pitiful electrified starbase, stripped of even its defensive modules. The last game i had this happening i was wondering what all those alien constructors were doing around that starbase, until i realised they probably still smelled the resource but couldn't reach it because my starbase was blocking the access. Has anyone experienced the same thing? I read these
