I had no clue what Miko was talking about. I downloaded Desktop OK which did nothing other than some utilities to take screenshot of icons same with reg-edit screen resolution. The good news is I set up a new admin account and logged in. Downloaded & installed Fences along with an older layout in App Data Roaming. Boom it looked great, maintained spacing and worked just fine. Now I will trying logging into my main user account - reinstall Fences and see what happen

Here is the info for Windows : Edition Windows 10 Pro Insider Preview Version 2004 Installed on 8/13/2020 OS build 20190.1000 Experience Windows Feature Experience Pack 120.19801.0.0 And Fences is up to date: 3.0.9.11 I have thousands of programs installed & not sure which one would be at fault. I am sure there is software out there to list ALL my programs, but then YOU would have to know how they work ie with Windows &a
No it won't. I have a scroll wheel & while it changes the icons it is very jerky doing so. I can also hold down ctrl key with + or - and it will smoothing change icon size but never close to a good size. And while they get smaller then they bunch up ie over write the text & icons. <img src="data:image/png;base64,iVBORw0KGgoAAAANSUhEUgAAAqkAAADwCAYAAAAjOP3RAAAgAElEQVR4Aey9CbQsWVnne0pQZBah1VJfN7ZYde+Zcoh5zIjIiIycTp7hnnPuOffeqgKRqSkmEWq4VYqCMiMqqCjIYDfg8NDXbYvNYD9EsBFBgQX2Q
I also am having this issue. I have tons of icon on my desktop which is why I bought Fences. I like it but doesn't seem like it's been developed to make it user friendy. For years, I have set up my desktop with Fences. But recently I have no way to adjust icon size other than small medium and large. With small they all collide with medium & large I can see the icons with spacing but have to scroll down in my fence to see the icons. Yet on an older post from s
LOL, I went into App Data\stardock\fences\backup and deleted ALL my snapshots and then copied over the one I wanted from the past ( with about 10 boxes. Boom I opened fences app and it was then so I restored it and it showed up fine. Not sure how & thanks for for ahte help. Just an fy No I had done a complete new install of Windows 10 latest version and had backed up my App Data Roaming Stardock Backup only on a different drive. Over the years and
Yup followed all those steps except the registry which I don't have. Most times I could go to my backup Stardock folder, move my XML & PNG snapshot into the current Roaming - Stardock- backups and it would show up. But not anymore. Here is my old PNG snapshot. I guess I will just have to start over.
I did a search in forums but got the same answer over and over again - I don't have a registry key and I do have the correct snapshots in the backup. I just reinstalled Windows 10 and I have copied over the snapshots in the past but today it won't show up in Fences.. Nowhere does it show what to copy over to my roaming folder - Stardock - backup. <img src="https://cdn.stardock.us/forums/64/45/6445018/2881e2e9-4efb-4cb2-b710-ed2de3402580.png" alt="" width="291" height="18
OK after one day & doing the reg import I got my old layout back. Seeing this question over and over and seeing the same answers that didn't help anyone - I would suggest using Clone App to backup the Fences Registry entry and then just do an import with regedit.
So I took the old Fences Registry entry and imported it and nothing happened. I can't upload the reg file but I had used a program called CloneApp & it had backed up the reg file. & yes I can just go ahead and start over but with Windows 10 acting up it's a pain.
No problem and I thank u for not thinking I was being snarky or rude ( I wasn't) just beyond confused. It shouldn't be this hard to backup and reinstall on a new pc or new windows load. When I reinstalled Win 10 I ended up with about 50 icons on the desktop & right now the only option is to 1: delete all icons 2. Go through dozens of hard drives ( I tend to keep a separate drive for each kind of software ie utilities etc 3. Send the icon to the desktop 4.&nbs
& just in case here are the photos of all the previous snapshots I moved into the current Fences folder but they don't show in the Fences program :
Here is long registry entry with another regedit program ( this forum only allows 1 photo per post
So I had already search searched and rean every single one of the links - pages you showed. The only one that comes close to an answer is this one on the FAQ page : XP: C:\Documents and Settings\USERNAME\Application Data\Stardock\Fences\Backups Vista/7/8/10: C:\Users\USERNAME\AppData\Roaming\Stardock\Fences\Backups <p style="font-size: 16px; backgr
I first did a search and read every post & reply like look in App Data etc. But not one answer works. Before I formatted and reinstalled Windows 10 I copied my entire user folder including App Data - roaming. I have the layout photos and moved them into my new USER folder App Data but nope they show up but don't show in Layout Snapshots. I doubt but hope I won't get the same links to previous responses that don't work.
I was talking about the daily snapshot which thanks to you I found both ( I set up 2 user accounts in Win10) So how would I move an older snapshot to load in the current user? Just in case the question is not clear - the current user doesn't show any daily snapshot yet the other user account shows the one I want. While Fences is awesome & unique it would be nice to have an option to import an older snapshot . Or a user could have 2 or 3 different layouts ie like virtual desktops . </
I have a Frankenstein computer layout. I keep all my Utilities on my Utilities drive & have 2 installs of Fences ( please don't ask) but can't find my old layouts or snapshots. I just installed a new hard drive with Windows , but also had backed up the old drive with a good layout. Last bit of info to help is I did searches & most suggested going to Users - App Data, but for some reason Windows doesn't like to back up hidden files ie App Data. Any suggestions would b
