Yeah it is a percentage.. It depends on your morality of your race and how the Aliens are. Altarians for example being Pure Good, if you happen to dip down to below 50 (look at your stats, click on social to view your morality rate) they will not trade a thing. Most of the time the Aliens will not give up weapons or a good trade bonus tech no matter how good diplomacy you have. There are hotkeys but I do not think there are any like that. Good suggestion I suppose though. :) Maybe someone at NeoTech Gaming Network can offer some suggestions. http://www.neotechgaming.com
or not see you there! LOL
Peace Phoenix makes some good solid points. I agree with him. Geraint Walters makes good points and it makes sense. I found that all my games go along much better with a strong economic boost. There are many Mods that have been made to give you some added bonuses you may want to consider playing with. ;) NeoTech Gaming Network http://www.neotechgaming.com Sci-fi themed website.
Excellent strategy suggestions NewfyScotian. Only difference with how I manage the empire is I never allow it to go negative. A few key points I never tried though. Thanks. ;) If you ever get bored and want to share some of those ideas please stop in at NeoTech Gaming Network http://www.neotechgaming.com and post some of your ideas in our strategy forums. :d
Interesting strategy Peace Phoenix. Destablization your talking about right? This is what I love about Galciv there are so many ways to play the game. Medals schmedals LOL I did not notice until you said something Hegetaga! We did post at about the same time. :p
Great ideas.. I sure want this Mod to become a reality. Producing all the ships may be a little bit of a problem but I am sure someone like TurgotZ could manage to make them. I am guessing though, it would best to check in with him in his forums at NeoTech Gaming Network. @PJ - Currently NeoTech has no problems with promoting Galciv as I am. I would not being doing what I am if I felt I would be breaking any laws. I plan to remain around for a very long time. ;p
I will not dispute the evil way of playing. I have only went evil a few times myself. It did seem to provide more points going evil, just seems that all races turn against you. :p You explained it much better then I did thanks. Of course you are obviously a much better player then I am judging from your medals. :D
I have a new addition at my site that shows all medals won for all countries. View it at NeoTech Gaming Network http://www.neotechgaming.com it updates the scores as they happen. No registration needed to view it. Enjoy! We support Galciv - Space Empires - Star Fury and Civ3. A sci-fi themed website. (If you do not know already) :)
A good example of using the sliders to gain advantage is during the colonization phase. I usually put spending at 100%, increase taxes until just before the moral drops below 100%. This will give you a good population burst if you keep it there. Adjust your military to the max setting this will leave 20% for research and social engineering. Keep it at these settings until you feel you have colonized most all worlds. You will get colony ships every 4-6 turns. I always manage to
Actually no this is not correct if you have the Totalgaming.net especially and if you place your games in another folder. It always installs in the program file in a folder called stardock. I have not been able to install it any place else even when I select to install it in my games folder. Just to cover all the bases if you also place games in another folder besides program files as I do. ;) NeoTech Gaming Network a sci-fi themed website @ http://www.neotechgami
Hi Freelancer101, Yes the problem you are experiencing is due to the tax issues most likely. In order to make your people happy, they will want lower taxes to keep money for themselves. ;) Keep them at 33% or below to make them happy as possible. Only time you can jack it up is during the colonization phase. ;) Evil choices can have reprocussions in your game when you meet other races. In order to maintain your evil ways you would need to research some evil techs that only Evi
I told Brad I was supporting Galciv and all of Stardocks products. I am also contacting Strategy First. I have all the copyright notices in place if you look. I am not stealing anything just reporting on the games using the game icons and stardocks icons for other products. We do not use the Certified by Stardock logo or anything like that. :) I am signing up to be an affiliate anyways so I do not think it matters. Copyrighted situations and concepts what do you mean because we include if stardo
Good luck your Mod dude.. I signed up at your site but I am buried now with projects. If my site can help you out with anything we will for sure. If you do change your mind and want to get away from the ads let me know. If you have a domain name now, we can give you a sub-domain or a full domain space. Much cheaper then where you are at I am sure of that. Free if your site is 25MB or less. Only 3 gig a month transfers with free accounts but that is better then most. We are easy to work with we a
J.T.Qwerk, good I am glad someone mentioned about the decaying score. I had 12,000 and now down too almost 6000. I have not been able to submit any scores at all past 10 games. I never tells me it made it or did not. No idea why either. The first 6 games I did not have one single Mod installed. :sniff!: Personally I feel the entire metaverse should be reset to zero everyone starting over. This would breath new life into people playing. It seems that many of the top players were also Be
Hi Farai I personally would love to see a Mod made based on that show. In fact there are many sci-fi shows that would be cool to convert into a Galciv Mod. :) NeoTech can provide you with forums of your own to post ideas about your Mod. You may choose to have one hidden and one open to the public for Mod development phase. Stop in and see what we can do for you. [Message Edited]
LOL Real entertaining thread indeed. "1. Is it me or does the Olympic torch look like a Giant Doobie?" Especially the beginning statement. ;)
I guess no one saw a complete computer line go belly up over pirating huh? I have been playing games since 1978 on the Atari 2600. After that I found out that they made a computer line in 1979. I bought the Atari 400 with 16K of memory that I upgraded to 32K. It had a flat membrane keyboard with a cassette storage. In 1981 I started up the Atari users group BBS of Syracuse New York. I found out quickly that games were being pirated and I cou
Sorry man, it shocked me to see it as I had just downloaded the entire website to my hard drive. If I had some kind of warning notice I would not have performed the transfer until next month. DOH! :notsure: :sniff!:
If you visit NeoTech you will notice something new: BANDWIDTH EXCEEDED CHECK BACK LATER! This was partially due to making extra backups not knowing when NeoTech would be hacked again, upgrading, regular traffic etc and I exceeded NeoTech's alotted bandwidth for this month. LOL Ii will be back online shortly once my host gets time to update my account accordingly. I posted quite a bit of news today about our favorite game company and Galactic Civilizations. We are sorry for the
Icho Tolot, 3 systems man you rule the PC world! LOL I have all I can handle with one PC thank you very much. ;)
Some of you guys have some good strategies. I am glad I stumbled on this thread. Thanks good tips. ;) Just curioous does everyone start out with expenses set at 100%, military set as high as possible, taxes as high as possible without loosing 100% morale in the start of a game? I picked up this strategy from someone a while back. Allows fast colonization phase allowing you to grab more planets. http://www.neotechgaming.com a sci-fi themed website (under construction) featuring
Ah, the best part of this game is comparing it to how it would really be meeting races like some of these. I play each game differently depending on how I start and how powerful I am. If I am not that powerful I go for trading techs to get ahead. If I am the power house in the quadrant, then I kick alien butt! ;p http://www.neotechgaming.com sci-fi themed website under construction
I never had that happen in my games where they trade any sort of weapons or ship technology. They want 3 times or more for any of those techs in my games. http://www.neotechgaming.com sci-fi themed website
The main difference between all races is the mortality that have if AI is evil and you are good, they will not like you at all. If they happen to be more powerful then you, expect demands and later a war. The characteristics are quite pronounced I think, but that is my own personal opinion. :) http://www.neotechgaming.com
