After many hours of investigation, and a heap of help from the Phonetools forum, one member on the forum mentioned that Windowblinds "might" be the cause of the problem. They were right. I had exactly the same issues as you and unloading blinds instantly solved the problem. I've done the same thing as you and added Phonetools to the per application settings and everything is fine now. Wish I'd seen this earlier but Windowblinds was the last thing I was

Had to reload 4.60. WB5 generally seemed ok but of course it's a beta release and is still a bit clunky. Crashes Adobe Acrobat 6.0 when you click on the file menu. The small Acrobat icon in the top left hand corner of the menu bar dissapears and the menu titles have shifted to the left, suspect I'm actually not clicking on the File menu at all, but some other function. Didn't see this occur in any other program. The logon problem was fixed very quickly
