I remember yesterday, I invaded another solar system, and took out a large normal AI's shipyard and research colony (6 shipyards, 1 cap, 4 research among other things), and not long after I destroyed it, a huge enemy fleet dropped out right there and launched a counter attack (they were the same size as my fleet). If not for the fact that my fleets travel in pairs - only splitting off to cover 2 systems, I'd have lost. When my second fleet arrive, the AI immediately turned tail and ran!

Wait........... the backround is not supposed to be this large, all encompassing nebula? Screenshot soon. Ok, heres the screenshot (and it's the most varied bacround one I have, and most of the time, the galaxy is orangy): [EDIT] please, reaffirm my posit

The backround feels like an all encompassing nebula, and it's very disconcerting. I don't want a black empty space backround, but this is a bit far IMO. Variety would be good - anyone played Freespace 2? That game had a lot more variety in nebulas and stars in the levels (not as a whole game - that'll be too hard).

Almost forgot this: Sound channels are very low. I only get a few sounds going at a time - very annoying at times. I have a sound blaster audigy 2 wih the EAX turned down to nothing (it's amazing how much video card time that took up!). [EDIT] Oh, and the background nebula absolutely must be more varied. It's disconcerting to have a gull 360 nebula at times. I'd suggest making smaller nebulae with different shapes and color separated by space with little twinkling stars. More atmosphere

Combat seems slow to me. Ships (except fighters) just stand there and shoot at each other. It's pretty slow to me. I'd suggest making at least frigates move similar to fighters while fighting - this'll make fleet combat a lot more lively and seem more fast pace IMO. Also, ships should have to move to the side of the gravity well with the space lane that they will be traveling before going into phase warp. Right now, they can phase warp through gravity wells as soon as they arrive, and i

Whenever I have a decent sized fleet (25+ ships), things don't lag, until I tell them to move. As soon as the movement (or action if you will) lines appear, the game starts to lag. Doesn't matter what the lines are doing or the circumstances, they just cause lag. The funny thing is that if I select another fleet in a different star, the lines go away, and the lag ceases. I don't think it's a pathing horder, but rather a graphics horder. System Specs are: Windows XP Pro (tweaked for

The game will go into a bugged up window mode when I change any video settings (and click apply). They still apply, but I have to alt-F4 out then re-run in order to get it to work. Also, without using the above posted fix, I can't get past the intros - just goes blank with the sound of the main menu. The mouse wheel zoom can get a bit quirky at times - zooming in slightly before zooming out (happens when the FPS goes below 20 mostly). Aside from that, no problems in a 10 hour game (actu
