-Ue_Carbon you are assuming the end game techs of both the Civic tree and Military tree. But at the same time you do not think the enemy would have access to the same level of tech? Because they only need access to military tree to get shield mitigation debuffs! Tec get it at tier 6, Vasari at tier 5! Compare that to Tier 6 in both Civic and Military in order to get mitigation this high, plus you need to research defense tree to get building shield and the aditional buff of the tu

Gee if only you could do something to protect it while it's being build. I dunno something like putting mines in place where you are building it and maybe using some sort of a ship that heals, like an overseer, to keep it up while it's being built.... If only something like that was possible. Oh wait, it is.

You have to put em in replay folder. Then go to single player and select watch replay. I suggest you stick it in the single player replay folder, that way you will not have to click around the folders looking for it. Folder you want is [Drive]:\Documents and Settings\[Windows Username]\Local Settings\Application Data\Ironclad Games\Sins of a Solar Empire\Record-SinglePlayer in the case of Windows XP. If you are using Vista, then good day. I said good day!

The map certainly got changed. It used to be you start without homeworld, I thought ti was meant as a challenge, but seems it was an oversight on their part.
We're talking about AI players, what does chatter between AI's have to do with anything? Players ganging up on one
From the matter of perception of the victim there would be no difference if they were being attacked by AI or players.
5 AI players attacking you, at the same time, is not likely to be an unfortunate coincidence, and is obvious when none of their ships fire on eachother.
<

Yes the game comes up with ever more clever ways to punish stupidity. I only ever lost 5 starfishes to TEC self destructing starbase, and that was intentional.

more like triple :O. Well SpardaSon21, if that is your real name, if you are so paranoid about a reputable company providing quality service to you for a reasonable price, then wait till all 3 mini expensions are out and they realease them together in a box set. As far as buying stuff that doesn't "exist," well I guess you can get through life without insurance, but it's a gamble.

If you wish a challenge ICO beckons you. I can promise non of the boringness of single player. And hell if you ever get 15 planets, well then I will be surprised :)

Ah so funny, you think if Player A decides to attack Player B, and Player C decides to attack Player B then clearly Player A and C conspired together to attack Player B, right? I love this kind of reasoning! Only humans react this way, I had been in FFA games with all players where one player complained of this exact thing and quit. But once I viewed the replay I saw no chatter between the two players, it was merely a coincidence. Also the AI diplomacy is a joke, I find it

IE7 requirement cannot be helped as the application uses an embeded browser. I hated having upgrade to IE7 as well. Until Stardock comes up with it's own embeded browser, which I doubt they will want to spend moeny on, we are stuck with this.

Very true. If your roid is "behind" your homeworld, you will usually build second frigate factory at your home. If your roid is "in front," then you will probably put anotehr lab there. Athough only advent need 3 labs for LRF rush, most need 3 labs for carriers. Not to mention if you go all out with starbases.

Read my words "will never happen." I don't need to argue agaisnt it because it would fall on deaf ears. But I take solace in the fact that the devs know better. FYI PJIs worked just that way in BETA, and it was changed, because it was retarded. All it did is force peopel to go around with tons of bombers so they can kill the PJIs from a distance.

Yes in general the flak frigates while give lot of XP, take way long to kill. Usually I would leave em to light frigate or a turret. After all, the next gravity well has some juicy siege frigates which give 65 experience :O

Wow you guys are crazy if a starbase could hold enemy fleets and keep it from jumping away the game would jsut become who can capture the enemy fleet first. This would kill MP and remove any strategy what so ever. Not to mention no one would send a fleet out without 40 bombers to kill your starbase in under a minute, which would just make the games go on for hours and hours.

Well there is ICO Moderater that bans people who get out of line. Many people think they can get away with anything. Usually young kids who think they can act smartass and nothing will happen to them because their parents never beat them for anything wrong they have done int heir lives. I find the friendly ban they get may go a long way to teaching them a cardinal rule of real world, and that is that they are not in charge.

It depends on the current mitigation of the target. A low level cap ship that was not being targeted with damage, and therefore has low mitigation, will take enough damage to die. But if it's mitigation was already up to 57% or higher, it might survive. Also cap ships that are higher level and have more shields/hull points will tend to survive, but can be damaged pretty bad.
