The big issue I see here is resolution. As many PC games are designed for decent displays, sever of them will get the short end of the stick when downgraded to play on a TV. Just watch PC game reviews on G4 if you don't believe me.

When playing in windowed mode: If a tooltip is up, and you mouse out of the window while the tooltip is still visible, it remains visible until the mouse is moved over another tooltip trigger. I tested this with the interface buttons at the bottom. Also, the tooltip triggered by the swap has the same visibility unless I go to one of the bottom buttons and slide horizontally onto an adjacent button. A vertical hop up then back down on another button

Ohhh... I agree with axhed. The ability to glass a planet from space would be greatly appreciated. Often times, I won't want to take over a low quality enemy planet, and would much rather bomb every last creature off of it. Well, and glass it to a class zero to prevent future occupation.

Those races get fewer ability points. However, under the current setup, there are races with abilities spanning beyond 10 points, as well as tech above 200 points. For example, the thalians have a HUGE techlist (12 techs) plus +20 pop growth(2 pts) +20 social production(2 pts) +20 military production(2 pts)

It's an easy fix. First, go to your Galciv2 folder, then the data subfolder. Second, open the file "RaceConfig.xml" in a text editor. Third, look for entries enclosed in [tech] tags (replace [ with Fourth, delete any unwanted techs for each race. Fifth, save the file. Keep in mind, this will NOT change the starting conditions for a metaverse game, as the common races have a protected fileset for the MV.

I am wondering that now that the public beta is over ,are the new beta releases going to be available on Stardock Central for those of us who prepaid for GC II? I'm really not seeing anything about mines that can't be done with ships, save the pre-determined suicide strike. Hmmmm... That could possibly be implemented with a missile type that does damage to the launching ship. The big issue here is that there are now 3 weapon and defense types. Which would be deployed against a suicide ship? Logically, that would be anti-missile defense. But if the device explodes out of defense range, sending shrapnel... Then you hav

This is a bug that showed up one or two beta releases past and is still present. No matter what the race or what political party you pick during setup, when the game starts you are "Federalist" If it's like I found, then it starts you with the party you selected last time, with Federalist as the first iteration.

Vinco - that's not a bug. As your population grows, the people get more and more unhappy with things Still seems a bit excessive, but I guess this is a design decision. Forgive my mistake. Anyway, the sound for me is quite choppy in the race customization screen. For reference, I have a
