Woah! Spelling error on the ad!!!! "Play as one of 10 different races or create you own" Should read "Play as one of 10 different races or create your own"
Vinco
Agreed. And to see that optimization happening before release, rather than in the third patch.
Check the stats on your opponents... You'll find that most of them start with a major tech advantage over you.
LOTS of publicity.
As the edit function isn't working for me at the moment... My techs are Hyperdrive(50), Xeno Engineering(50), and planetary improvements (100). The thalians have... Hyperdrive, ion drive, space militarization, galactic warfare, starship defenses, general life support, xeno economics, planetary improvements, xeno farm construction, xeno industrial theory, xeno engineering, and stellar cartography. The tech balance seems a *bit* in their favor. Then
Why dont you start with your own race and start with the techs you want to start with. You can be anyone you want to be. Loooook at all the option screens in the race setup and find out what you can do before you complain about
p. 29 is a rather random place to put the government bonus table. It would make more sense to me back at either the political parties section, or the economics section. It could eve go later, on p. 33 where the main government section resides.
Balanced does not at all mean identical. For a great example, try StarCraft BroodWar. That game is generally regarded to be pretty much the best-balanced game of all times, and each of the three sides has a very different feel and strategy required for success. I'm not suggesting that all races be given the same starting techs, etc. What I am suggesting is that none of the races start with 8ish more techs than anyone else. They don't even have to
It would be VERY nice to get this "balanced" before the last public beta. I'm at a HUGE disadvantage if I'm a custom race against these others. They can expand at least twice as fast as I could.
Aw, come on. Didn't you see the movie "Independence Day"? We all saw how easy it was to write a computer virus which disabled the alien shields. Can't be that hard! As I recall, that virus popup looked suspiciously like a Mac, though...
Well, as the game integrates parts of Stardock's Object Desktop suite, and that suite is only available for Windows... That's another mark against Linux. I wouldn't hold your breath at all.
Looks decent but I see a few spelling issues and such. Should that kind of info be posted now? Sent elsewhere? Sent later?
If you're looking for a classy, good-looking case for office or home, take a look at the antec p180. I'm using that case on my home system, and it's a nice quiet case with excellent cooling.
Minor polish issue: When your ships are close to a planet with a moon, the moon will often pass through parts of the ship.
No... All your base are belong to demolition crews.
Do the extra components and theme apply to those with the TG.net rollover? And if not, is there anyway we could elect to spend a few bucks to get a boxed copy shipped to us that would get these goodies short of buying a second copy of the game?
I'm not sure about glass, but my MX1000 works wonderfully on wood, pants, walls, and just about everything else I've tried it on. It will not work on CD cases, however.
I recall trying this one... The name varies depending on the country. I think the UK version is called Maximus XV or something similar.
Our veteran stream-of-consciousness poster strikes again.
Give them time
Well... other than the French tech tree and the mislabeled CD's, and the video stuttering, and the strange volume on music, the performance drop after about 4-5 hours of play... I played my first game yesterday... about 45 mins to get the game up and running, then about 7 hours in game before grabbing 3 quick hours of sleep. Sigh... I can't wait for the mod teams to start releasing.
Ahhh... the joys of Penny Arcade.
Very interesting... This is not what I heard from a friend working in an EB store... Even the EB employees have no idea about all the upcoming changes, it seems.
It's UK only for now, it seems.
If there were only something worth playing... I have all the ones I'm interested in. On a not-entirely-unrelated note... Check out the ratings on cops 2170.
