I went into a new game, selected the Torians and reset their attributes to nothing. I then clicked next to get to the opponent selection screen, then back to return to the player race selection screen. Clicking on the custom race slot replaced it with the modified torians, but kept my custom race name.

The custom race MV exploit mentioned here: Link is still valid in 4E. The remainder of the post is no longer valid. To clarify: custom uberraces can still enter the MV games.
The beta 4e audio sliders now go from 0-10000 instead of 0-100, and 10000 displays as 100...
I still get frequent crashes as well. I've heard 4D was still a pretty buggy build.
p. 20 Skip available internet test. Some might interpret the phrasing to mean that checking this option is required to use the metaverse.
Looks like the issue wasn't load time, but a lack of driver support for the game.
It would help to get an idea of your system specs, especially the video card. Additionally, make sure you're using the latest drivers for your card.
... That sounds too easy.
I have to agree here. I also keep my OS on a separate drive, and would like to allocate the save space to a larger drive.
Count me among the supplicants.
Click on the GalCiv2 name in SDC, and you should see either the media pack below it, or a plus beside it. If you see the plus, click it. Then, click on the media pack. Finally, click install next to the media pack, and prepare to burn about 115 MB of your bandwidth.
Oh, well... I think it's still going to be worth $20 to a number of the rollover crowd to get the pretties.
North America = Canada RUN!!! The Canadians have taken over! Then again, perhaps it's for the best after what the rest of North America's been like lately.
Edit's being a bit wonky again... Therefore. After taking my custom race into game, I exited back to the main menu as before, and I am now unable to login to the metaverse. I can enter my login info, but I get dumped back to the main menu without message after a few runs through the progress animation. Hitting new game afterwards takes me to the metaverse screen. Hitting back and then new game again returns me to the new game screen Backing
While the Metaverse uses a protected dataset for the AI races, there's no checking of the player's custom race. To test this, I edited all standard races down to only hyperdrive tech, and built myself a uberpowered custom race via object edit (text editing the save file). When I started a new MV game, I found that the standard races were back to their completely unbalanced glory, but my ubercustom race still stood. It looks like you need
And check the volume options in-game.
Thanks, Yarlen! Well, I guess I'll be sinking $20 more into Stardock (Any way we could burn 2 tokens instead?)
Does this mean that tomorrow will also have the final public beta build release?
Yeah, if Penny-Arcade likes a game, they're usually quite willing to advertise, as well as talk about it. It's hard to get better online publicity than them, if your server can handle it.
Unless we collonize the rest of the galaxy. Then we would get to survive the death of the solar system Yeah, but by that point, I don't think we would really care what happened to Earth. We might not even remember why Earth was special.
I'm with Cari here. However, an ability to set an option to do this if there are unmoved ships remaining might be of use.
There is currently no way to scroll diagonally. Would it be possible to designate, say, 5% of the screen in each corner for diagonal scrolling? It's irritating to me to only be able to scroll in 4 directions, and I find myself rocking from one side of a corner to the other to approximate a diagonal scroll. (GalCiv 2)
Well, as the sun will die before the rest of the universe (assuming heat death), I don't think humans will really care if tidelock to the sun occurs in a few billion years.
It's not precise as to formulas, but the game breaks the unhappiness down into components, and I've seen the tax component increase over time with the rate unchanged.
Sigh... One of these days, I'll make it to a battle before giving up on the game due to crashes or overwhelming enemy expansion.
