I must be having problems with my TA map editor. Under "Edit" I only see a bunch of Randomize options. I guess this is what you use. Any way to give it a number of stars or planets to add.

I loved the old 900 planet DA. Maybe that is what is causing my disappearing ship icon problem though. I love lots of planets. I actually had a 1.6 DA on an old computer and used it to create maps for later DA's. But I updated it. I hope I can get it back. I wish they had a download area on this site where you pick the version that you want. I started the TA editor. Apparently it has no facility for putting in stars automatically.&nbs
If so, is it already included? Where is it (or what is it called)? How do you get the game to use it? Is it in effect a mod? Thx.
Thanks for the answer. Which program is the map editor?
Here is a link to two others (one person remarks several times). https://forums.galciv2.com/326569
I have found more bizarre behavior. When I get no ship icons, I can go to the colony button and look for them one by one. Launch them. Later that turn they are back on the planet unlaunched. I have made lists of planets to recheck them. Launching them again usually works. Since I have had this problem 1.8x and so have some others. Not sure what to do.
I am trying to figure out what is going on here. I am having the trouble with the latest version of DA 2.0xx. Running on a 6 month old Dell with Vista SP1. 3 gig memory. I moved the game to my old XP SP2 computer with 1 gig mem. With DA 1.80g. No problems. Ship icons show up on every move in my mid to late game. Now I believe I was having the same problem on my newer computer using 1.80g (if that was the last major revision prior to 2.0.)&nb
It seemed that the number of stars and planets (even when set on abundant) started declining in DA after about 1.6x. Looking at the starting game in TA it seems like there are even less. Is that correct? Are the devs trying to cut down on the planet rush? (BTW I love the planet rush. I know that makes me a bad person.)
In mid to late game. I've upgraded DA, reinstalled. Not every turn. I know there will be new ships but they don't show up at the beginning of the turn. I can find them on the planets and launch by searching the planets.
The pre-2.0 was losing ship icons from mid to late game. I am not sure when this problem started (in terms of versions). I have seen others report this. I think it has to do with the number of ships existing. It's annoying but I keep playing anyway.
The easiest way to know is if you have TA and it has the new opening screen with the ship designer. If you don't have the non-beta 2.0 DA, TA will complain and say you don't have the latest version of DA. It will say you have version 1.8xxx. Even though the opening screen of DA says 2.0. You need to make sure that the blue orb at the top of Impulse is clicked and you are taking pre-release versions (betas). The opening screen of DA right now
Yeah, I get it now. I just didn't immediately get it in the governor's queue because I was expecting something else. I was expecting an automatic queue that you could set up for new planets. Perhaps what we have is semi-automatic. You have to pull the trigger for each planet. Now if it was easier... Never mind.
Still losing new ship icons part way into game. Have to go looking for them. Looking at colony report will tell if a new ship will be built next turn. When it happens, there are no new ship icons at all even if several are ready. Restarting temporarily fixes the problem for the next turn. But not for the current turn. If you don't restart, you will never see new ship icons. Fun to look for them. But I was hoping this bug would be fixed wit
Apparently there may be a beta DA and maybe TA. You can't tell from the opening screen. Maddening. I unchecked the beta box. I have downloading, uninstalling, and reinstalling. Still haven't got the new TA working at home. Did work at my office. But I don't play there, just test. They need to get there opening screens to reveal whether it is beta or not. I am still having the problem at home of TA complaining I have an
What is the difference then between new and all? I was hoping that the queue would be automatic, say, for new planets without having to turn it on.
I've been playing DA for a long time and just started TA. I've been waiting for planetary build queues for a long time. Can't figure how to get it working. This is how I start. On the planetary governor screen, I give a name to the queue on the left side. Then I double click on building. Say, three factories. They show up on the right. I click on either "new" or "all." What I am expecting is that when I land on a new planet, the queue
I like the screen shots. What is not clear to me is how much of the 2.0 release is just in TA? Do the changes show up in DA and DL?
I don't know if this covers DA but is the bug fixed where late in the game in big galaxies, new ship icons don't show up at the beginning of the turn. You can only launch by finding planets with new ships. Restarting the game fixes the problem temporarily for future turns but not for current turn.
I think it definitely has to do with the style of games--the size of the universe and the number of ships. I don't see it at the beginning of the game. Only when the number of planets and the number of ships gets very large. Only on the two largest galaxies. The problem once it starts doesn't go away by itself. I have to save and restart, look for my built ships, and then inevitably the next turn shows new ships--but only for that turn. I sometimes wi
In DA no green arrow shows up since there are no new ship icons. Even though there are new ships. I have to hunt for them with much effort. Hopefully this bug will be fixed with the new update. Glad to hear there is a different way in the new game.
I know there are icons for new ships at the beginning of a turn. At least there is supposed to be. However, in really big galaxies and late in the game, the new ship icons often don't show up. There is no launch ship icon to punch on either. I am wondering if there is another way to launch all ships into orbit, say, by the keyboard that actually works. I get tired of looking for my new ships when I have several hundred planets.
Seems to happen on really big galaxies near the end of the game. I have so many planets that I know many new ships should show up. Very annoying. Restarting temporarily fixes it though you still do not know the new ships from the last new turn. You can go looking for them. Very time consuming. Then in a few turns it does it again.
I don't have a clue from the email. There is virtually no text. Clicking to websites gives no information that I can tell on what it is. I guess if it was a big deal Brad would touting it on the home page if not elsewhere. Basically, no clue.
I get an email today about Galciv Empire. I click and I don't know what I am looking at. Is it a new way to record scores? A new game? What?
Playing a huge galaxy using DA 1.80g. As I am getting into the end of the game, every 3 or 4 turns, when the turn starts, it shows where I need to do construction but no new ships. There are new ships if I hunt endlessly for them, but I have no easy way to launch them. I can fix this temporarily by saving and reloading. The next turn, the newships show up (but not for the previous turn). On some planets, I get a backlog of ships not launched which I see later.<
