I own TA. My question is this: have enough bugs been worked out that I can play a game til the end without substantial problems? I realize that we are still in beta til probably January.

Very rarely I have had a ship highlighted but not appear on screen. Moving it makes it reappear. Very rarely. DA.
I like choices. I like anomalies. I like a lot of them. We get to choose how many. The AI should build more survey ships if the game has lots of anomalies. I hate when choices are taken away. If I like a lot of habitable planets or very few, there should be a choice for that. I grant you that it makes it more difficult to come up with a good ai. Please don't nerf my ai and habitable planet OPTIONS.
Here is 1.80 f test 2. Still not official. Works better than e. I've had a few strange things happen with test 1. The somewhat hanging change turn situation where it won't go to the next turn but I can save, reload, and go on. One crash to the desktop. No, I didn't save it. Haven't had any problems so far with test 2 after a couple of hours. Cari is workin thru the bugs. In the mean time, if you find a bug, remember it's not a bug, it's a feature...<br/
I have tried to archive the version I was currently using when there was a new version available. I was on, I think, an early version of 1.8 (b or c). Then d or e was available. When I tried to archive the early version 1.8, instead it wanted to archive a version of 1.5. To put it another way, if you have a good version, archive it now. You may not be able to archive it if a new version comes out even the older version is the one on your machine. There are two ways t

It is released. Thanks, Cari. She is not completely sure about it yet since there hasn't been enough time to test it with a lot of people. So it is not an official release. The link is found in the first "sticky" post at the top of bug forum. It is a zip file that you can download and try. We'll see whether it fixes the problem. Given that the bug was reported late Thursday, we should be glad we got something so early. So let's try it out--we are beta testin
Thanks CariElf, We'll try 'er out.
Isn't there a way to revert to the last build. I looked at the download manager but couldn't seem to pull up the prior build.
No, you can't get the old build unless you archived it at the time. Once there is a new build, I don't think you can archive your current build. At least I've never been able to do it. When I tried it, I got a way old build. It would be nice to have old builds--but not now. We haven't given Stardock enough time to fix the b
It was reported Thursday night (I reported it). But Stardock doesn't have to fix every bug instantly. Hopefully we will get a fix this next week sometime. But I know they are under pressure to keep pumping out TA betas.
I want to amend my original bug statement. I have noticed that I can right click my fleets several spaces beyond their turn limit. I am unable to tell whether that "several" depends the range in the turn or not. It typically looks like two or three spaces. Obviously I cannot move the fleet a long distance with a right click. Stardock will save us.
I haven't had any troubles Alt-Tabbing. Huge universe with only 1 gig memory. This is with pretty much all the 1.8 versions. I've had fewer "slow-downs" too.
Sometimes we like the older versions while they are improving the newer versions. This is a case in point.
I think I was playing 1.80c before and didn't see this bug. I wish I could have archived 1.80c. I tried to do it but once there is a newer version, you can't archive the version you have. At least I haven't been able to do it. It would be nice to have a bunch of versions available on Stardock Central. Moral of the story. If you have a new version and it is working well, archive it immediately. I archived 1.61. And it generates lots of habitable planets.
Glad to hear it! I'll try it soon.
Do you email them and saved games to ? Or some other address? Not sure. I want to make sure the fleet movement problem in DA 1.80e gets addressed the next time around. Yes, I can wait. I realize TA is the top priority now. I like looking at TA betas but I am not sure I want to play a full game until most of the bugs are out. I am real happy with DA 1.8 (except for the fleet movement problem). I wish I had archived 1.80b. I find th
The newest version 1.80e has a bug dealing with moving fleets at long distances. If you right click further than its remaining moves for that turn, it does nothing. There is no problem moving single ship long distances with a right click either on the mini-map or regular map. They'll fix it sooner or later but I wish I was still at 1.80b. My attempt to archive it failed.
Yes, I reported this earlier. It only applies to fleets. See earlier in "Bug Reports." You can right click with fleets but not past the moves for that turn. Otherwise it does nothing. I sent in a saved game late last night when I reported it.
Yes, now I see the problem on the main map. I can right click a fleet on the main map but only if it has enough moves for that turn. I can't set a move for a fleet beyond that turn's range. So the problem is NOT a fleet-mini map problem as I first suggested. It is problem with right clicking a fleet beyond its range for that turn on either the mini-map or main map.
I was playing a DA game (I believe it was on 1.80c--perhaps 1.80b) and tonight I updated to 1.80e that went up today. I didn't use 1.80d because I heard some complaints about it. At any rate, I am now at the point in the game where I have fleets of ships. I can move them with the normal right click on the main map. But if I want to move them a long way and right click on the mini-map, nothing happens. I have checked to see if they have any movement points left and
I've always thought that you should get the choice of denying or not using a captured tech. Like when you upgrade your govt. you get the choice. Lots of time I stuck with upgraded manufacturing that bankrupts my system unless I delete all of them. I think there is a way of refusing all by planet in DA. But that is cumbersome.
I also think we need a separate TA forum shortly.
I like the sector number at the top of the main screen, though I think I would have started at the bottom left. That's what's left from algebra. Whatever. I like the sector numbers! I think the sectors start with 0, not 1. Makes computer sense to me.
I requested an email. There was the new serial number. But for some reason, I didn't have to copy and paste. When I went to Stardock Central, a number was already entered and the Install button appeared. And I don't think the serial numbers were the same between Stardock Central and email. I might be wrong. Well, at least it worked. I will install later. Back to DA.
One of the problems with the buildings is that you don't obviously know their exact effects unless you dip into the .xml files, but also you aren't told whether the effect (like increasing morale or birth rate) is just for that planet or all your planets. We need a Galactopedia for DA. Someone mentioned how the program might be modified to work with DA. Don't remember how.
