Regarding defensive ships being useless: During the last chat with Frogboy, he mentioned a stronger defensive ship in the works. He said the puter had to be taught how to use it, however and I've yet to see it.

This carries to the extreme where you can offer them 100 bc for only 10 of their bc and they will turn it down.!!!! A dumb thing indeed!!!!. A planet is increasingly likely to go fundie, the lower its morale. Keep your morale up and it wont be so devastating.
